The Monado is not a sword; it's a reality-altering beam weapon that lets the user see the friggin future.

They'd still be complete characters without a video. Just like how they're still complete characters without a Final Smash or moveset of their own. That doesn't make them something worthy advertising prominently though, especially not as some of the last promotion before the game's launch.
Heh. If Chrom ends up being a clone, there's no way one of the last big advertisements for the game will be a big showcase of that. That's just utterly senseless.
Still, I don't expect him to be a clone.

Why would they get videos though? There's no reason not to give them one. Plus, Sakurai said he's planning on giving all characters videos.

Unless there is something im missing the screenshot is zoomed in blocking off the 3rd and 4th players possible character choices and stock. There could be a 3rd player playing as Sheik but since the screen is zoomed in we can't see it.What sorcery is this?

I see people are at the barganing stage now with comments like "maybe there are more newcomers then the gemtasu leak" or "maybe some newcomers won't have trailers"

Nope! There was just Sheik. There were two matches on the EVO main stage, both had Sheik w/ Yoshi icons.

There are tons of reasons to not advertise characters like that, considering how it might even give a negative perception of the game right before launch.
Anyway, Sakurai's previous statements also implied that the videos would be CG or comparable to that, since they're replacement the SSE videos, and yet Pacman got mostly game footage. Budget isn't infinite.

No 3rd/4th. It was on evo. I cropped to highlight. I took the screenshot/zoom myself but didn't save the whole big picture. Match is over so i can't take another screenshot.
I'd have expected more people to be hopeful about DLC, considering the leak's apparent legitimacy. 'Greedy' by Nintendo's standards usually isn't too bad.

They could be saved as unlockable videos, but they'd still get videos. And Pacman still had a personalized character trailer (with a CGI intro), just like all of the other (non-Mii) characters. His is just simple.
I mean I guess it's possible that you're right, but there's no reason to think that's the case, and it probably isn't.
I also can't believe people are still using the "Rosalina wasn't in the leak!!!" excuse. Come on.

It's not the same at all. Previously these were described as the replacement to the SSE CG videos, and they were long CG sequences for each character. And, yet, Pacman basically only got a short CG intro, with most of the video being just edited gameplay footage.
His video was actually more comparable to Sonic's than to the one of any other new characters.
Except not wanting unlockable videos is the reason Sakurai didn't want a story mode anymore. So, unlockable videos are definitely out of question.
This makes me want to cry...
It's looking really good for Shulk this Monday. You know Shulk those Mechrons are pretty tough, a teamate wouldn't hurt to have.
Especially one that knew a thing or two about mechs.

It's exactly the same thing. It's located on the same location on the website. I guess that's all Sakurai wanted for him. And it's completely different. The videos show the characters in a positive light, so even if they're posted on the internet, they don't ruin a part of the story, they just get people excited for the character. Which is what those videos would do.
Again, this is just random speculation. Everything we've seen and heard from Sakurai suggests that the Gematsu leaks are probably it.

Brings tears to my eye as well. We can only hope. Snake doing recon or something, all of a sudden he's ambushed by metal gear Rex/Ray, red exclamation point pops up, Rex points his rail gun at snake and then SLASH, rex is cut in half. From the debris is shulk! I immediately stop caring about shulk because i'm so happy snake is back.

Well, Gematsu's confirmed. I guess the only thing we aren't sure about are the return of Mewtwo, Snake and Lucas, but all the newcomers got leaked. I'm OK with it, I would've liked a couple more, but hey there's DLC.
Shulk is my most wanted newcomer so yep, fucking pumped about him. But even more I'm pumped about his stage. Cruise stage Sakurai, thank you.

I'd almost prefer the inverse - Marth and Zelda facing off against a faced Mechon, then having Shulk come to their aid; the stinger after the newcomer montage shows Big Boss climbing out of the destroyed mech and challenging them.
One person not knowing isn't the same as nobody knowing. I don't see why you have a problem with some people discussing other possibilities. You are fully entitled to hold the leak as the gospel truth but don't act high and mighty ("I see people are at the barganing stage now") because others want to remain open minded. Didn't said leak also mention they hadn't decided between Lucas and Ness indicate that the information was from a time the roster wasn't finalised? Also did it ever state this was all the character? It just stated some newcomers.
Don't see why that isn't reasonable speculation. In fact, both are 100% true: Mii Fighters didn't get a trailer and Rosalina wasn't part of the leak.

Except he never talked about ruining story or spoilers. He said that the videos were basically rewards and that being allowed to watch them outside of the game made their inclusion pointless.

It's pretty cut and dry. Rosalina only wasn't on the leaked list because she was revealed before she could be put on the leaked list. Not really much more to discuss.
Did you not read the interview I posted? And I'm not speculating. Here's what we know:
The leak has been 100% correct.
The leak has twice reported the same final roster of newcomers.
Sakurai said there are few newcomer videos left.
Sakurai said that he is trying to give all newcomers videos.
The only way your idea works is if you come out with some sort of crazy exception to one of these facts. It's not likely.

The Gematsu leak mentioned that Lucas was likely cut, but was there any mention of Snake? I'm of the expectation that he is long gone with Ivysaur and Squirtle, but does any believable leak/rumor explicitly state that?

Just because the trailer isn't up on the smash website doesn't mean the E3 Direct portion w/ Reggie Fighting Iwata shouldn't count as their trailer because it definitely was.

For sure. I think it's pretty silly to lump Shulk in with the rest of the sword-users given how incredibly unique the Monado's abilities are. Not sure how they're gonna make seeing the future work though, heh.
And that'd be a nice consolation prize at least.
