Y'know, if Ganondorf had to be a clone, Ike would probably make the most sense. Heavy sword user with really powerful attacks. Just swap out the aether animation with some kind of dark energy thing, and change quick draw to an animation of TP pig-ganon dashing.

If let's say Sakurai graces us with not just Ness and Lucas, but yet another Mother character who would you want it to be? Personally I'd love to see Jeff. I don't think it's an unrealistic choice since he'd be a gadget heavy character, I can see him being a clone of Snake.

Kumatora or
Claus
I'd be so happy if that happens, but if we're even discussing the chance of Lucas being cut, this is a lot more unlikely...

That's because Gen VI is the best. Most immersive world thanks to 3D, the most Pokémon per capita, etc.

I don't know why, but pokemon Diamond/pearl sucked me in, and then black/white did an even better job. I just couldn't get into X/Y AT ALL. Could be that I'm burnt out on pokemon, but as it stands, Black/White were my favorite GAMES (my favorite gen is still 1). I loved the overall presentation and spritework in black/white. I think that's what really did it for me. I also loved my smugleaf and mienshao.

Dratini is still best pokemon. Still no smash rep at all. Not even a trophy or sticker!

That one is great!

With XY, I never grew bored and had a blast from start to finish, and then played online until I had a total playtime of 200+ hours... which is astounding for me these days. I think it was a combination of the polygonal 3D world and battles, the huge variety of Pokémon from all six gens, the ability to level up your entire team together, the ability to bond with your Pokémon in Amie, and the streamlined approach to EV training (Super Training, Horde Battles), which together with the enhanced online features (persistently available on the lower screen) allowed me to rapidly raise a competitive team of statistically perfect Pokémon. XY were so good. :-)

Nah, clones should modify a moveset in a way that makes stuff unique. That's why Ganondorf is the most fun clone, making him heavier, slower, and more powerful really changed up how he played.

XY were kind of meh for me. Even BW/2 weren't that fun for me. Have only put in less than 50 hours for each game. Compare it to my Platinum, Ruby, or Heartgold that has a couple hundred each.

I don't deny X/Y are good. My girlfriend's 12-year-old has probably clocked 300 hours into his. It just did nothing to pull me in, and I don't know why.

Yeah idk I like the Pokemon from Gen V but I think unova was weird didn't really enjoy my time there as much as Platinum. HGSS was the best IMO, but XY are just so much better mechanically I can't go back

I can tell weekendgaf is coming because we're slowly devolving into the Pokemon Gen arguments that we devolve into every weekend.
FRLG=BW=RSE>DPPt>B2W2>HGSS>XY by the way.

Oh, I'm just speaking for myself, not saying you're wrong or shouldn't feel that way. Everyone's mileage is different. :-) I think I'm the opposite of you where I had already burned out on Pokémon prior to XY, so when XY came around I was ready to get back into Pokémon at a deeper level.

XY is definitely light on post-game content, and on new Pokémon as a whole (although combined with Pokémon from past gens, it has the most Pokémon of any region). I can see the shortcomings of Gen VI, but the way the game made the competitive scene so accessible was amazing.

I tend to always prefer the most recent gen since the most recent gen will naturally have the most Pokémon, mechanics, systems, refinement, etc.

Oh, I don't think there's any argument about that in terms of the metagame. I'll agree that the multiplayer is always best in the most reason version.

I am in love with XY because of the breeding mechanics. Mothers can pass down egg moves. Destiny Knot causes 5 IVs to be passed down instead of 3 IVs. And the Eggsploit means hatching the perfect Pokemon is as easy as swapping out Pokemon in the Daycare.

Plus the O-powers to speed up hatching.

Well it's too late to axe Lucario, isn't it?
It's never too late.

I feel similar. It was clearly a good game, and I got really excited about it for a while. After I finished it though, I never felt much like putting more time into it. I threw together a mediocre competitive team. And then it just got dull.

I think it's more my fault than it is the game's. Mostly that I don't have time to grind EVs and IVs any more. I know they tried to help it along. It kinda worked, but it's still tedious. I used to revel in that around Gen 3/4/5, but now it doesn't seem worth it. Most of my Pokemon friends have also either moved or also don't have a lot of time to devote to getting a team together.

The one big gripe I did have about the game though was the transfer system. Having no way to transfer your old monsters in the game is pretty bad. Finish your product before you release it. Never mind that it's a separate app now, designed to exploit money from you. By the time it released I wasn't even playing X/Y anymore, because other things had come out. (And no, I don't care that it works for all the games going forward.)

Sorry, I digressed there. tl;dr: XY were good, but not my favorites because of various and mostly silly reasons.

Edit: Afoni is back too? Welcome back! This thread won't be safe again for a while, I guess. :P

Yeah, X/Y are fantastic mechanically and its easily the best the battle system has ever been.

But Kalos is such a bore and there's so little to do in it. Unova had the same issue in B/W, and version two resolved most of that for me (with a bunch of new side attractions and optional areas) but it at least had the benefit of a kinda interesting story. The journey through Kalos is just a drag.

Yeah. I love Black and White one, because the adventure through Unova is amazing, even though the post-game ain't great. Kalos is basically the same, minus the amazing adventure.
plus BW1 Unova is balanced around catch 'em all runs, and I love me some catch 'em all runs. X and Y, not so much...I'm doing one right now, and somehow I ended up about 65 levels above the next gym leader, and I'm only about to be on Gym 2.

Pretty amazing that the last thread went as fast as it did despite not having beezlebufo, afoni, or ragnarox gifs.

I'm surprised this one is already over halfway over. I mean, shit, what have we had revealed? Two stages and no Takamaru? I mean, fairly big, but still.

Didn't Fox's mom die from a carbomb in the Nintendo Power comic?

Edit: Also, I just realized that both Beelzebufo AND afoni are back. It's like the dead are all returning just before the end times being.

I donno, I always feel like I'm gonna somehow get banned before we hit release, and that kinda makes me scared, man.
