Haven't played much Metal Gear to know any good locations. I did like the Shadow Moses stage in Brawl and hope that returns. And that those metal gears that break down the wall actually attack players this time.

A Snake Eater stage would make sense, especially for 3DS (the song should be in both versions, of course.) The best thing to represent the game, I think, would be Groznyj Grad, with Volgin doing his thing on top of the Shagohad in the background, just like the Metal Gears in Shadow Moses. If you want a stage hazard, have Volgin send down some lightning bolts, or have The Fury swoop in and blast some fire.
The only thing is, it would probably have to be a walk-off. If you don't like the idea of the Metal Gear stage being #BANNED, then I'd go with the forest where you fight The End. You could have a cliff on one side and a river/waterfall on the other, and The End targeting and blasting players, kind of like the laser beam in Halberd.
I wouldn't mind some Peace Walker representation, either, though that game doesn't really have any Nintendo connections to speak of.

Groznyj Grad would be pretty great, but for me, the most iconic location of Snake Eater would be Rokovoj Bereg; the field of flowers. It's situated on a cliffside, so it won't be a walk-off, and the MiGs can provide a decent stage hazard. Plus, it's thematically significant to all games after 3, having cameos in Portable Ops and Peace Walker.
I think an easy cop-out would be fighting ontop of Metal Gear REX, like how Solid and Liquid did in MGS1.
A locale from MGS3 would definitely be a better choice, Maybe fighting on the Shagohod while it wrecks havoc on the base?

For some reason, I didn't even think about that, but it's a good idea. I'd still want to shoehorn The Fury in somehow, because he's way more fun than a couple of airplanes.
Well, it is a tranquiliser rifle, and an antique at that. It's not much more impactful than the Cracker Launcher or K. Rool's blunderbuss.
You'd have to follow The Iron Shiek's twitter account to understand. He's insane and says stuff like that all the time.
