The way I see Shulk working in Smash is him having a Talent gauge feature of some sorts.

Every regular A attack he does fills it up little by little, and when it's filled, his special moves change into one-time use powerful Monado moves. Buster for huge damage, Speed for recovery, Shield for momentary invincibility, etc.

And his Final Smash would have to be Monado Cyclone. It fits too perfectly.

What the heck...I'm gone for a day and new thread. Geez did that last thread fly by.

Anyways...doubt we'll get anything substantial until comic-con weekend.
Please prove me wrong tonight Sakurai.

Will their be a separate OT for when the game releases, or is this one it? I think we could get to 20 OTs by the time that the Wii U version releases
in 2015
if this stays as the main thread.

PM Pit is one of my main examples why the entire design philosophy of PM is poo in my mind. Him and Snake.

I still remember my reaction to Snake having a knife instead of the rocket launcher.

Didn't see any other topics, since it's Fan-Smash related is it cool if I post it here?

That popular webcomic Brawl in the Family is ending

Ignore post if old.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not before Smash 4!

Damn. It really is good. Sad to see it end at some point, but I'm glad it will end on a high note.

That said, hope he still makes it until Smash 4 release.

Well, that's a surprise. I suppose it makes sense, though... I'm assuming he'll try to push it to 600, at least, and Comic 600 should (if he keeps his usual update schedule) land on... October 3rd. I think that'd be good ending point.

Either way, closing off Brawl in the Family just as Smash 4 lands has a nice sense of finality to it. On to the next chapter.

Because it fits Snake's character and playstyle way better? Brawl Snake was a mishmash and felt unfair because of it - PM Snake actually feels like a character that could be described as "Tactical Espionage Action", with focus on sneaking around your opponent and tricking them into falling into your traps.

The rocket launcher is cool, though, I will admit.

It's odd. That's Big Boss/Naked Snake's thing, not Solid's.

You pretty much described Brawl Snake there though.

Perhaps to an extent, but Brawl Snake feels much more like a generic heavy character with explosives rather than a character meant to be played tactical. PM Snake feels more like a character that's meant to sneak in bombs and tranqs rather than a character that can just run around, kick people really hard, and blow them up with a random rocket launchers or missiles.

PM does a good job of emphasizing character roles that Brawl had already put into place, such as making Snake about being sneaky and making Mario the jack-of-all-trades.

Aww, that's a shame. Still, I respect the artist for ending it the way he is: he's wise enough to see that he's running out of ideas, and that it's better for the comic to have a good, decisive end than to get stale and peter out.

I assume BitF's final comic will include all the playable characters from all 4 smash games with some kind of farewell.

Probably; he did say that he saw it more as a Brawl comic in the farewell post, so it makes sense to me that he'd make the finale about moving on, both to the new one and from the comic.

Either way, it was tied with Awkward Zombie and Manly Guys Doing Manly Things for my favorite still-running webcomic that isn't so plot-driven that I wait months before archive binging to catch up (Take away that qualifier and you quickly find Dr. McNinja sitting proudly at the top), and updated twice as much as either of them, too! I wish Matthew the best of luck in his future endeavors; he says BitF was holding him back from getting a job in the industry, and quite frankly, it'd be great to see him working on a larger scale, so I'm fine with losing BitF in the process of doing so.

Anyway, who's expecting tonight's update'll just be re-confirmation of the Green Hill Zone as a Past Stage?

The "Snake" in Brawl is never really defined as far as I remember. He's got characteristics from Big Boss and Solid.

I very briefly played as PM Snake at a friend's house. Definitely had some neat ideas, but I just love him in Brawl. He's a great mixture of sneaky type things and just blowing your shit up, just like in his games.

While stealth is a huge part of MG and certainly the most important part, don't forget there are many, many times where he has to just say "fuck this", bust out the heavy artillery, and mess up a fool.
