The dojo will be a level on the Wii U version. You literally fight on the home screen. Sakurai comes in as a stage hazard and trolls you like no tomorrow. Then, cat pictures.

Come to think of it, I wonder if we'll see the equivalent of a Pictochat stage but using MiiVerse...

It would be too awesome if they can somehow make the stage have direct live access to miiverse and new posts and pictures show up on the stage as you fight.

Every time I see Smash 4's Donkey Kong, I cringe.

At first I thought everything wrong with DK (most notably the fur) was a consequence of early development, but Sakurai continues to show it off like it's something to be proud of!

(And no, I'm not holding the fur to Tropical Freeze standards. Just...Brawl's.)

If we're debating about whether or not Pac-Man should be in Smash Bros., I really hope that Sakurai chooses to make him a Mr. Game & Watch style character where he looked like he was thrown out of the arcades either with pixels or just an incredibly basic design. His moveset needs to replicate running around and eating pellets, ghosts, etc. as much as possible too. In other words, don't take modern Pac-Man and have him running around punching people because that isn't really "Pac-Man".

I guess the other 3rd party characters I'd really be interested in (curse you Sakurai for not putting Banjo and Kazooie in Melee before Rare buyout!!) would be Rayman and Simon Belmont but I think the matter of how they'd play would be rather easy to deduce. Also crossing fingers for Snake to return, love his inclusion because he is such an oddball choice and not a typical "mascot" character which brings diversity to the cast, and honestly I wish we had more like him.

I disagree.

1) that is what namco is selling

2) him rolling around woudn't negate classic things.

3) I don't care about nostalgia that much, not saying you do. But its not a factor for me , as long as pacman gets it . :/

Something akin to this is how he should be represented. This image is also taken from Wreck-It Ralph which is a high budget Disney movie, where coincidentally the classic arcade style Pac-Man was chosen over the modern Pac-Man because classic Pac-Man resonates with the audience more. If Namco didn't have a problem here I doubt they would with Smash, especially because arcade Pac-Man would probably be the style Sakurai would choose based on the IGN interview.

Not really related, but Sony needs to make a sequel to their SNES game Skyblazer, and then put that dude into the new Sony Smash. And simultaneously make PSASBR fundamentally better.

Awe man... Every time you guys bring up Banjo and Kazooie I honestly get a little melancholic =( That series was way way better than Super Mario 64 to me. There are so many ideas for stages, AT, and oh the music.

I guess bringing it back to Smash, how would you guys feel if although your most wanted 3rd party characters didn't show up at all - no playable, no AT, not even as a trophy or sticker, would having the music from their series be somewhat acceptable at that point? For example, I would explode into joy, gumdrops, and smiles if Sora from Kingdom Hearts was a character in the game or the World that Never Was was a stage, but it's not likely at all in my mind. If some of the music showed up in the game, however, I would still be overjoyed and wouldn't hold it against Sakurai for not going further than that.

TLDR: Your most wanted 3rd party character didn't make it. Have some music from the series, instead. How do you feel?
 
Man, a lot of you guys were spoiled by the Dojo.

I prefer not getting new information every day, but that's just me. I'm totally fine with just seeing pretty screenshots without much major information. It builds hype in its own way without spoiling every part of the game before it comes out.

A big part of the reason I want Travis Touchdown is just for the opportunity for No More Heroes remixes.

I'd be happy with it. Then they also wouldn't have to water down Travis's talking!

As you can see in my drawing, I have no problems with arms/legs Pacman.

BUT the pixelated legless pacman is a PERFECT final smash
 
All of Nintendo getting tipsy on that nasty ass Bud Light.
 
I reeeeeeeeeeallly want to see something Mother/Earthbound-related soon, whether it's a stage, just Ness, or whatever.

(Actually playing EarthBound for the first time this year made me more hyped for its representation in Smash than I ever could have thought.)
