I think we went over such a thing was back in the old speculation threads, the gamepad user being an omnipotent bringer of screw jobs and such would actually be an amusing side mode.
That look would further suit his SSB style of being a power character, though I expect they'd just leave him the same for consistency sake, I'm fine either way as long as he returns.

That design doesnt fit him, it looks like they just made it based around lucina's model instead of actually around Marth himself.
An interesting thought came to mind as I was making my roster, what is the thought process behind each background colour. Now most are obviously just their outfit; Mario = red, Luigi = green, but some are a little less obvious. For example Fox's is blue and yet his outfit doesn't have a trace of that colour. I'm guessing it is actually a reference to the wing colour of the Arwings.
I can't think of a good reason behind Olimar's, Villager's, Samus' and Pit's. I can only guess the first two are a reference to the amount of foliage is in their games, Samus' is dark for space and Pit's is for the sky much like the cover art for Uprising.

Man, it'd be really shitty if KI got 2 reps before Metroid.
Sakurai considers Zero Suit Samus a separate character, so Metroid technically already has two reps. Also, Kid Icarus is filled with characters suited for Smash Bros., whereas Metroid is really all about Samus and a bunch of giant alien monsters.

I keep reading "KI" as Killer Instinct.
These were shown during the E3 round table discussion for Pokemon XY.
XY uses two-tone shading and the models obviously don't look as it does there due to the lower power of the 3DS and resolution of the screen.
But if we get Palutena that means we can probably get a screenshot of Palutena and Zero Suit Samus by Sakurai!
The opposite happened to me when everyone was talking about Killer Instinct last year

Yeah I know there's ZSS, but I've always seen her as more of a transformation than an entirely different rep. I know getting another good character out of Metroid would be hard, but as discussed, there's Ridley. KI only has 1 game in the same period that Metroid has like 8. It would be really unfortunate to see it get snubbed again.

I really want a non-Ice Climbers humanoid ice-elemental fighter in Smash Bros. We've got Sub-Zero, Glacius... every one of the greats has an ice fighter.
in Metroid alone there's Noxus, Rundas and Anthony Higgs. Given Sakurai's current history of weird newcomer shit I'd love for Higgs to be a secret unlockable. Plus, if we're going by tenure (and include retcons), Higgs is actually the oldest non-enemy Metroid rep, dating back to Super Metroid just before the Kraid fight. It could set up an interesting dynamic where Samus wants revenge against Ridley and Higgs wants to settle the score with Kraid.

I don't know if it's canon or just really popular fanwank, but there's a downed Federation agent in Brinstar Depths (Kraid's Lair) in Super who's theorized to be Anthony Higgs.

I guess Anthony also miraculously survived and got off the planet somehow before it exploded even though there were no other functional crafts on Zebes, and then never mentioned any of this to Samus, his close friend, when they saw each other again on the Bottleship.
Still makes more sense than Other M's actual plot, I guess.
