Awesome idea
as like a special mode or something, instead of specific to a stage
?

I wouldn't get your hopes up for something like that happening. Unless they just make a filter over the models, which wouldn't look nearly as cool. But I would assume Mr. Game and Watch would be over powered on his own turf.

It wasn't in Melee because each stage in Melee had 1 or 2 perfect tracks per stage, instead of a bunch of mediocre tracks to choose from like in Brawl.

come the fuck at me melee ost >>>>>>>> brawl ost

According to this you have the worst opinion in the world.

How can you make that assumption without having seen Lucario's Final Smash? If Mega Evolutions are in the game, they're obviously going to be Final Smashes.

Do Final Smashes count as part of a characters general moveset? They are item locked. Anyway, I wasn't referring to Final Smashes, and besides, I am an advocate of relegating mega evolutions to Final Smashes if they even appear.

Also, plenty of people here don't seem to think it is obvious that mega evolutions would be a final smash. Many people on here have droned on about a possible Zelda/Sheik style for Mewtwo.

While turning them into a final smash is the easiest avenue of inclusion, it'd be kind of neat if Lucairo's aura was reworked such that he builds it up over a match and then goes mega with it.

Doesn't Brawl's soundtrack contain like 90% of the good songs in Melee?

It doesn't have the original Gourmet Race theme, therefore it is inferior in every single way for missing that one important track. (No, the garbage metal remix on Halberd doesn't count and neither does FoD's rendition).

The Lucario reveal thread is like the Dead Sea and I can't from any logical perspective understand why some people are so upset :/
And that's why I tend to stick to this thread rather than the offshoots. At least I somewhat know and understand the craziness here.

And you know who else's name starts with "Luc? Lucina. Yep, she is the next reveal.
forget you Lucas fans, Lucina has to be next ;-;

He's a 4th gen Pokemon which has now become one of the least liked gens, he "replaced" Mewtwo (which is probably the main reason for most people), *and* he started the stupid fallacies about how Mewtwo and him share the same move set when that is not even remotely true -- even in 2014 there are still people who think this and it blows my mind.

He's the symbol of one of the worst character cuts to happen in Smash, even if you weren't very invested in Mewtwo, a lot of people were (despite how the vocal minority actually wanted him out of the game for being a bad character???????)

Basically, a lot of stupid shit surrounds him that has no bearing on how he actually plays in the game is why people hate him.

A minority group yelling at clouds.

Nah, I went and edited it so it'd be better to read anyway.

It's funny, as much as I know I'd love to see Palu in game, I actually don't know what archetype she'd be saddled with. As long as she has some oomph behind herself, is very mobile and/or is a projectile monster, that'd already be good enough for me.

I always liked that Turret/Tower Defense style of play ever since I saw it mentioned in these threads. It'd be sorta like playing Kokonoe (Blazblue) and Doronjo (Tatsunoko vs Capcom) at the same time, you build your "bases" on the field and have people cover it and yourself until it's ready then you reap the benefits.

As for my own personal desire, well I don't have anything too grand. The only thing I wanted was a good flail using character, hence my biggest reason for supporting Mike Jones as playable since forever ago. I've always imagined him as a fast paced character that was primarily based around his Island Star (the yo-yo he uses) and it's ability to transform based on his level of focus between a basic yo-yo, a morning star, and that supremely wicked looking flail that shoots flash bangs forward. I even made a moveset for this a few years ago.

Needless to say, this was done a loooooooong time ago. Five years to be exact.

For Palutena, I would like that if she received din flare traps system so she can set up light balls around her for amazing combo. A lot of potential there. I love to do combos with Din Flare with Zelda.

Build Base character would be fantastic representative for Advance Wars but I doubt it would happens anyway.

Your Mike Jone sound so gooood. I really hope that Mike Jones would get in along with Takamaru. What scared me about Mike Jones is that there is weird omission of Star Tropic in Brawl even they mentioned almost every series there are. I would like it very much if Mike receive level system where he can level up his yoyo. Like UMVC3's Frank West.

To this day I'm still astounded as to how the boppiest song in Kirby Super Star was transformed into a orchestral, fantasy epic. I'd love to know the story behind that.

I don't even like Gen 4 and I am just as confused as you are. Mewtwo was one of my favorite Pokes growing up and I never beared ill will towards Lucario for the former's exclusion. There's no reason why they can't coexist.

I'm guessing since both game were never released in Japan, Sakurai/the Smash Bros. teams were never really familiar with it.

But hey, you can always go into the Chronicles and check out its release date!

I will check Chronicles for Star Tropic, but seriously they should add western character to shock Japanese players with american character. That would be cool tho.

My theory: Lucario's Final Smash is still Aura Storm, but now he Megaevolves while he performs the attack.

(First post with the awesome Neorice avatar!)

I hope they implement their Mega Evolution idea when Lucario reaches a certain damage %. That would actually make him an interesting character

This sounds good to me. Make the Aura mechanic more apparent by having him Mega Evolve when his aura reaches a certain level, ie he takes enough damage. Once he evolves you get a permanent stat boost, so even if you then find a healing item and heal yourself, you still stay as a more powerful Mega Lucario.

Also, with yet another character that probably would've been secret revealed, I am firmly in the "all characters unlocked from the start" camp. And I'm more than ok with this.

I'd hesitate to make any conclusions about the status of unlockable characters until we reach a certain threshold. Both Melee and Brawl's starting rosters made up 60% of the total cast. (14/25 and 21/35 respectively.) If the total amount of revealed characters exceeds 36 or so it'd be reasonable to suspect no unlockables.

I really liked Lucario. If he was in Melee, I think he would be one of the 26 most popular Smash fighters in this thread.

It's not the numbers, it's the characters they have revealed already.

Even if you discount Luigi as a one-off for e Year of Luigi, we've seen Toon Link, Marth, Lucario - all characters that were been secret in all previous appearances. Toon Link was to promote Wind Waker, but you honestly couldve used Zelda or something just fine. Mar and Lucario really came out of nowhere, there wasnt a 'need' to reveal them before release unless they arent secret.

We've had Rosalina revealed as a newcomer when you would assume that if any newcomer was going to be secret, it would be her, being an unexpected character and the fifth Mario character to boot.

Sakurai also talked about the Internet giving away content from his games. Yes, he was specifically talking about videos, but characters are exactly the same. I'm sure he would rather have a greater level of control of when characters are revealed, by revealing them himself in the lead up to release.

The thing with unlockable characters is that you can either hide new characters away - in which case you limit the amount of characters you can show off prior to release just for the sake of it - or you can hide characters that people already know are in (kind of like Brawl did), and then, well what's the point? Just do away with it. Smash has plenty of content it can arbitrarily hold away from the player to supposedly compell them to play a game that should be good enough to compell them regardless, so why lock characters - the games main selling point - away? It's just not necessary.

Well, it is praticaly impossible to find a screenshot of this, but in Game & Watch stage in brawl every character was flat while rotating the camera during the pause.

So it MIGHT be possible.... but of course not with entire new models =/

The fact that the Art Academy community is the same for every region makes it IMPOSSIBLE to find this drawing O.o

Been holding page down for a while and I am still "1 day ago"

I asked this in the IRC, might as well ask here too:
From a scale of 1 to 9, 1 being Brawl speed and 9 being Melee speed, what speed do you want for SSB4?

I say Project M/64

Are you sure you want 1? That's Brawl speed.

I would like between 5-9, but It look like it might be 2 in the trailers.

lol. 150% for Mega Lucario would be terrible, because, remember guys, there are kids who like Lucario and want to power up and be awesome, but won't ever get to see it because of you selfish pro players.

It's really a terrible idea.
