My main concern regarding stages is, and always will be, playability, and I like to have a bit more variety to choose from than just Battlefield and Final Destination.
I should also say that there were many similar complaints leveled against Brawl early on in its reveal cycle, and that game is probably the gimmickiest Smash in terms of stages.

The only thing that bothers me about the 2DS is that they are releasing a new handheld while continuing to give the 3DS XL crappy non-solid color options.
