Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

So, for lack of things to talk about, what Pokemon do you expect to come in pokeballs?

I hope Sack(edit:Sawk) and Throh come in as a tag team.

Brawl had these so I expect to see them again:

Groudon and Kyogre (Raquaza was relegated to subspace boss so I hope this time it gets a pokeball appearance)

Lugia and Ho-Oh

New ones I want to see:

Reshiram and Zekrom

I doubt Spear Pillar is coming back so Dialga and Palkia might be getting poke ball appearances

Can't believe someone has been going around launchin DDoS attacks on AllisBrawl, Smashboards and Project M. What is the point? I mean really, why? It's pointless.

Wow, I knew about Smashboards but not the other two. I'd love to just meet a person who goes around doing stuff like that. I'd give them the frowning of a life time.

One thing I'd like to see is increased Pokeball drop rate when it's the only item turned on. All Pokeball games were fun in Melee because the things wouldn't stop dropping, while in Brawl if felt like they took forever.

I want to only say this. Leave Jigglypuff out of Smash. It sucks.
Nah, Jigglypuff's a fun character who has been a staple of the series.

Edit: LOL Jigglpuff. Sounds like a Dead or Alive reference.

Brawl seemed to decrease the number of simultaneous Pokemon. Hopefully, at least for the Wii U version, they'll give us a larger number again, considering how they don't seem to be pushing the graphics that much.

I think most people hyping over the Xenoblade picture is because some people had it in their mind that he was going to overlook the game. I'm not sure why anyone believed that considering we've had obscure, unreleased and cancelled titles represented in past games.

Here are some Pokes that I would like to set free from balls in Smash land.

Machamp
Crobat
Tangela
Arbok
Smeargle
Ludicolo
Cubone
Huntail
Aerodactyl
Electabuzz
Gengar
Poliwhirl
Sharpedo
Mr. Mime

Well I don't think anyone was expecting Pichu to return. Mewtwo returning for Smash 4 is a pretty safe bet though.

So let's say Mewtwo is back in, what will its final smash be? It turning into MegaMewtwo and flying around screen hitting everything with its psychic powers?

Cue Super Sonic jokes.

I was talking about Pokeball Pokemon... Melee supports more Pokeball Pokemon active at once than Brawl, which quickly produced empty Pokeballs and Goldeens if you tried to release too many.

It's gonna be so funny if this doesn't happen. Can't Sakurai tweet without mass speculation?

Either way...

I think he said in an interview or a tweet, that he is tired of people imagining things every time he twitted something. And it's true people always assume things every time he says or posts something, it's awesome to be excited about Shulk possibly being in Smash, and I'm sure the Monado doesn't mean anything, but still.

Look at Sakurai. He's grinning.

I'm pretty sure that he is smiling at the idea where he knew that fans would go overboard with Shulk and Ness hype because of tweets.
OMG Kimono Ladies from Pokemon Gold/Silver are in Smash!

I wonder which Eeveelution they have!

See?

Mega final smash could work as a transformation ala Wario's. Or maybe less powerful than that but last for the entire stock.

We can be friends then. I'm also a logos dude.

At least someone understands.

Sure, be excited but don't over-hype as this thread already is. It's really not going to to end well if it doesn't happen. People need to stop assuming and give the guy a break.

I forgot Krookodile, Gyarados, Beartic, and Totodile.

Totodile really got the Smash shaft. It should be rectified.

Oh oops.

Hopefully that's changed around this time.

Jigglypuff will be taking Snake's moveset.

Here are some Pokes that I would like to set free from balls in Smash land.

Machamp (Runs to the foe and winds up with all four arms for a Dynamic Punch. If you get hit by the punch, there is massive knockback and your controls are temporarily reversed.)
Crobat (Flies around after you and attacks foes next to you. FRIENDSHIP!)
Tangela (Hops around slowly after the foe. If it gets close, it grabs them with its vines, restraining them like a grab.)
Arbok (Coils and then does a leaping strike; foes hit by the strike are poisoned and start losing health at a constant rate for some time)
Smeargle (Oh God I have no idea)
Ludicolo (It does a dance causing rain to fall, also hitting any foes close to it for mediocre damage. On a stage with a bottomless pit, water rises so that it's not bottomless as long as Ludicolo is dancing.)
Cubone (Tosses the bone like a boomerang; if the bone misses the foe, it hits poor Cubone in the face on the way back)
Huntail (Hops ineffectually around the stage like Goldeen, but if a foe comes close it leaps on the poor bastard and chomps for high damage)
Aerodactyl (I don't know)
Electabuzz (I'd prefer Electivire. It charges up with electricity for a few seconds and then immediately teleports directly to the foe for a thunder punch to represent the immense speed of Motor Drive.)
Gengar (Lowers itself into the ground and begins moving around as a shadow, dissipating after a while. If an enemy steps on the shadow, Gengar leaps out of the ground and licks the unfortunate foe, then hops back down.)
Poliwhirl (It waves its hands around and a spiral shape fires out of its chest; enemies hit by the spiral get their controls reversed)
Sharpedo (Swims across the stage at ridiculously fast speed for a powerful hit, but one solid hit against Sharpedo knocks it off the stage)
Mr. Mime (Creates an invisible wall, box, or platform. After ten seconds the obstacle disappears. If its trainer is offstage, it will always create a platform underneath the trainer.)

I forgot Krookodile, Gyarados, Beartic, and Totodile.

Totodile really got the Smash shaft. It should be rectified.

(I'm not sure for Krookodile, Gyarados should just hyper beam the shit out of everything, Beartic punches the foe into the ground like Donkey Kong's headbutt and an avalanch rains down on them from the heavens, and Totodile should just jump around biting onto people and not letting go)

My ideas in parenthesis.

Other good Pokemon I was thinking of...

Diglett (Goes into the ground and pops up to attack in random places)
Forretress (Spins around throwing spikes everywhere; spikes deal damage but no knockback to foes that walk on them.)
Donphan (Rolls around like a tire back and forth across the stage)
Klink (The two gears fly out to the sides and then fly back together at the spot where a foe is. When they recombine and spin, it does heavy damage but little knockback.)
Crustle (acts as a big, slow moving solid platform. The rock on its back can take damage, and after enough the rock breaks)
Chandelure (Creates a ring of flames that spins around and spreads outward, Phantoon-style)
Bisharp (Raises its arm and three Pawniard appear next to it. Bisharp points at the closest opponent and the Pawniard all run into to attack while Bisharp watches, dealing minor damage and being pests. If the Bisharp is attacked, it falls down and the Pawniard all flee off the stage.)

Sigh.

Sakurai uploads pictures and this happen? No wonder he stopped.

Come on. Stop being grouchy. It's just harmless hype from other people.

Didn't Sakurai say that people shouldn't take everything he posts on Twitter as a nod towards Smash Bros?

Yep.

you guys are taking most comments in here too seriously, I havent really read any comment that specifically stated that this is related to smash, and even then, the ones that did you can tell that they're obviously joking, and with that in mind that doesnt mean we have to all of a sudden stop wishing that we want a certain character in smash, this is the smash thread, and nothing is anywhere near as "disturbing" as you guys are making it out.

Exactly!

Started playing Xenoblade on Dolphin for high-res goodness.

Holy hell, what a wonderful game so far. Graphics, art, soundtrack, and gameplay are so good.

I think most people hyping over the Xenoblade picture is because some people had it in their mind that he was going to overlook the game. I'm not sure why anyone believed that considering we've had obscure, unreleased and cancelled titles represented in past games.

that was my thought process

I still have only played an hour or so into Xenoblade...and that was from some time last year, I just haven't found the time to sink into the game ._.

Good stuff Toxi.

Paul Gale confirms: Peach and Yoshi will be back in Smash 4!

That sounds like wishful thinking. My source says Daisy and Boshi will be confirmed in a fortnight.

Hopefully Nintendo doesn't drop the ball with online by neglecting competitive settings. Ideally there will be a 1v1 matchmaking playlist with tournament settings as decided by the community.

In MK7 communities you could set the settings like "bombs-only" and stuff, so hopefully they take that and let people make their own rooms with competitive settings at least. No-items or only certain items and stages.

No reason why Nintendo can't cooperate with the tournament scene to create a competitive matchmaking hopper like MLG in Halo 3/Reach, though.

Communities are nice and I support custom servers in general, but they're exclusionary by nature. I think it should really be a global feature available to all players.
