Anyone expecting a new humanoid Pokémon to take Lucarios place in Wii U and 3DS?
I'd love to see Mewtwo coming back, but maybe X Y has some nice surprise yet to be revealed.

Pretty sure they do read GAF, and other forums for ideas for discussion and stuff.
First attack was his F-attack right? And that stance with the sword is when he charges his smash attack isn't it?
No one is taking anyone's place. I expect both Lucario and Mewtwo in the game.

Well if there is another humanoid character I'd assume they'd hold off on announcing him until after X/Y is out. I don't think they've shown an X/Y alternative to Mewtwo/Lucario yet and if they're announcing a character on the release day of X/Y they would probably be revealing one people already know of.Kyūkon;83872369 said:

Mewtwo (with its Mega Evolutions) really seems to be X/Y's equivalent of a promotional mascot like Lucario or Zoroark. Undoubtedly there's going to be a major Pokémon announced in a year or two that's analogous to Deoxys or Genesect -- what I call "sendoff Pokémon," or a generational bridge -- but the main marketing Pokémon has always been shown off prior to the launch of the new games. It's always that type of Pokémon that's added to Smash Bros.: Pichu, Plusle/Minun, Lucario, Zoroark, and now (Mega) Mewtwo.
Pokémon X/Y release is just around the corner, so a new Pokémon reveal for Smash could be scheduled for the end of the year. And Sakurai could reveal customizable PKMN trainer in the meanwhile.
But, by the loosest definition of smash bros clone... he is a clone. Anyone who has similar B moves is a clone, even if every other move is different, and the b moves are slightly different. They both have boomerang, bow and arrow, bombs, spin attack. Sharing those moves means they're clones, even if each move behaves differently.
I love toon link much more than regular old link, because of the way he behaves, but I acknowledge he's a clone of Link.
The only way for him to NOT be considered a clone is if all/most of his B moves were entirely different. (Like leaf, bombchus, etc instead of variations of normal Link's moves).
That said, I didnt watch their video, so who knows what they said

I don't think they're going to announce that a Pokemon no one is familiar with yet is going to be in Smash on the day the game it debuts in releases. I guess he is a clone, but I just hate the term due to the negative connotation associated with it due to most people using it in a negative way. It is annoying. I like Toon Link more than regular Link.
Didn't help they kept on mentioning it in the video lol, but they felt if he had different regular moves, then they would feel he wouldn't be a clone.
Personally, I want to see the Deku Leaf, and Skull Hammer appear. And I think the former could be used well for ledge guarding, especially if it is a Side-B move.
Yes, I agree with you. And I do think people will have a lot of time to get familiar with any new X/Y Pokémon until the release of Smash.
Besides, this new Pokémon could even be an unlockable character for all we know.
I do believe Mega Pokémon will have some kind of appearance in Smash, maybe as a special attack though. (EDIT: I was thinking starters and final smash here)

Have we seen regular Link's side-special yet? Thinking about Toon Link replacing his boomerang with the skull hammer made me wonder about regular Link's boomerang. I kinda hope they replace it with the ball n' chain or the spinner thing. I tried incorporating something from Skyward Sword but all those items are either terrible or already in use by Link.

Special pokéballs for Mega Pokémon could be pretty nice, but the Mega forms (other than Mewtwo, going by that movie trailer) must be activated by a trainer, right?

Donkey Kong has been looking better and better lately. I wonder if his model has been improving or if it's all just angles and how zoomed in the camera is on him.
We still haven't seen either Link's side special. I'm expecting boomerangs but maybe something is different between the two of them and Sakurai hasn't finalized it yet.
