Supergirl renewed - moving to the CW

In that crossover they had Supergirl make a needlessly complicated analogy about "if two Earths could vibrate at the same frequency, maybe they could be together". It's pretty clear they have plans for this already.

wouldn't it be less complicated if they just retconned her into existing in the same universe instead of multi?

They would make a cute couple.

Retconning should be the worst case scenario, meta humans were a huge mind fuck for everyone in Arrow and Flash, the idea that an alien has been saving the world for years without them mentioning it would be ridiculous.

I'm okay with them keeping them as separate Earths

Because you'll always run into the "Well why doesn't Oliver/Barry/Kara call Oliver/Barry/Kara" that people sometimes use for problems on these shows.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

It'd be more complicated than that, though, as Supergirl exists in a universe with an active, adult Superman. Superman operating in public for 15 years changes the universe considerably, especially when it comes to the uniqueness of the Flash and other metahumans.

They should have did that in the first place

It was smart to keep them separate initially and them merging the universes in some way could lead to good or at least interesting story possibilities.

The problem with having Superman exist in the universe is that it weakens the impact of the Flash, who is the strongest superhero in the Arrowverse at the moment. Flash is Superman here just as Green Arrow is Batman.

Nope. Superman exist in the Supergirl show so you'd have to explain him as he's been operating globally for over 20 years by this point. If it was just her then it might be a different story. It's simpler to say there are multiple Earths and they can simply cross over via portals that speedsters can create then move on. DC is full of stuff like that, it's also a huge part of the Flash character/mythos and it's best not to shy away from it. Trying to ignore that stuff and come up with new things is where it gets messy, confusing, etc. Flash and even Legends of Tomorrow has been good to okay with explaining stuff like that. Hell that's what Flash season 2 has been all about. I don' think it will be as complicated as some think.

A good way to handle it would be if Supergirl and some of her cast gets thrown into Earth 1. That way there's no Superman, or more expensive actors, and it acts as a soft reboot for anyone who jumps in for only the CW episodes.

Basically a crisis situation.

The timeline for Supergirl is:

1982: Krypton explodes, infant Kal-El lands on Earth
2006: Kara Zor-El exits the Phantom Zone and lands on Earth, is found by a 24-year old Kal-El, who is already Superman

In the Arrowverse, the superpowers weren't public knowledge until a few months after the Flash became active in fall 2014.

You're looking at a Superman who was active at the very least 8 years and potentially 14 at the time the public in the Arrowverse became aware of super powers.

Them all being in the same universe really doesn't change things in the overall picture. You don't have to follow any of the other shows as whenever there's a crossover, it's a one-off that really has no impact on the on-going story for each show. You can still have Supergirl a part of the universe and never watch a single episode of Arrow, Flash, or Legends.

Calista Flockhart — who, despite being adamant about working in L.A., agreed to remain on the series with its move to Vancouver.

I can't wait for the explanation for CatCo's "remodeling".
