Sue Ellen Mischke is the big bad?
This is a two part episode (premiere). Real test comes episode 3.
That was a damn good episode. Looking forward to more with Supes and Jonn.
Man. Pulling the friends card after all that time? Let me find some Kryptonite.
Cadmus is the big bad for the first half of the season, so yes?
Even got him to break up with his on and off girlfriend.
A lot of feminist TV shows focus on stories about women battling patriarchal forces. But in its own way, watching a powerful man unquestionably respect the authority of a powerful woman is just as much of a feminist statement as watching a woman stand up to misogyny. And given how many stories we already have that focus on women fighting for respect, its nice to see Supergirl switch things up a bit. Its no small gesture to have arguably the most famous male superhero of all time model feminism in action.
Speaking of which, between Lena and Teshmacher thats two more white women added to a cast filled with white women.
So, as soon as we find some way to cross Supergirl-verse into the Arrow-verse, we may have an opportunity to have Dean Cain, Brandon Routh and this new Supes in a show together.
That would be so lit.
Thank you.
So having not seen the episode, would they still invite Dean Cain back considering he's a Trump supporter lol.
His character is still a plot line that's mentioned.

That The Adventures Of Supergirl does all that while introducing one of the most adorable versions of Superman ever seen on screen is just icing on the cake.
Tyler Hoechlin is pitch-perfect as both the Man Of Steel and mild-manner reporter Clark Kent. If anything hes even more boyish and goodhearted than Christopher Reeves iconic take on the character, and Hoechlin is certainly a breath of fresh air for those not so fond of Henry Cavills more dour turn in the Zack Snyder films. Though season ones constant references to Karas cousin always felt slightly awkward, they now allow Superman to slot effortlessly into Supergirls world.
Tyler Hoechlin made his debut as both Superman and Clark Kent here. I wasn't necessarily sold on Hoechlin after seeing the initial photos of him in the suit, but he really owns the role. He's insanely charming as both Superman and Clark. The show is clearly drawing most of its inspiration from the Richard Donner Superman movies and the Lois & Clark TV series. Hoechlin's Clark is a bumbling but lovable dork. His Superman is confident, compassionate and almost always smiling. This is a hero about as far removed from Batman v Superman's grim, dour Man of Steel as is humanly possibly. Superman is a character that should inspire hope and optimism, and Hoechlin immediately nails that from his first scene.
Hoechlin's Superman works for basically the same reasons Melissa Benoist's Supergirl does. They both have that same warmth and earnest charm. They're both great about contrasting their dorky civilian personas with their superhero ones. And because the two performances share so many qualities, Hoechlin and Benoist play very well off one another. There's a clear, palpable bond between these two characters from the first moment they appear onscreen. I think what always bothered me the most about Superman's absence in Season 1 was the fact that it implied some sort of rift between the two characters (like how Superman shunned Superboy in Young Justice). But thanks to this episode, that perception has been permanently shattered. And best of all, it set the stage for Superman's potential recurring role this season (for now, he's only confirmed for the first two episodes). I'm not sure how hanging around National City is a good idea for Clark, professionally or in terms of his relationship with Lois, but I won't complain.
They can always quietly replace him with Tim Daly.

"season 2" of CW shows really like to have some fun with scope-expansion.
Arrow nailed it with the escalation of Slade, Flash embraced the multiverse and Supergirl deftly handles Superman's entry.
let's get it
Anyone know when CW will put up the season premier on their app?
IIRC someone mentioned Arrow's premiere going up fairly quickly? 11pm or midnight PST?

Yeah I heard 2AM EST.
Is there a firm idea of what's happening with Superman? Is he sticking around this season? While I really like him in the episodes, they really leaned on Donner/Reeves winks and nods and that only gets you so far til you need to develop him as a character. I'd like to see that.
And where's Maxwell Lord?
Tyler Hoechlin did a fantastic job as Supes imo
Fun episode
