Survivor 31: Second Chance | PLAYER VOTING IS LIVE | Jeff Probst's Fantasy Football

I want this season to start now.

The finale was kind of disappointing, outside of the tribal council stuff and Mike winning(!!!). Mike is a badass, and he kicked ass. He deserved the victory over Mama C (who honestly didn't do too much) and that vile asshole Will.

The reunion wasn't much of one, either. Jeff only talked to a few people and focused on one topic.

Woo cannot possibly win the game. He's said he's going to do the exact same thing he did last time, which is a plan of attack that inevitably leads to his best possible placement being 2nd place. I'd rather the spot be taken by someone who's playing to win.

Fair enough. I suppose I don't care if there's people out there who can't win (or don't even want to win) as long as they are bringing something to the season and mixing it up. But I get disagreeing with that.

Like, I don't think Kass can win? But she's going to at least do her very best terrible job to do so. :p

I think the problem is Woo barely even brings "something". His most memorable moments were stealing a clue from Spencer's pants (which only became fun to watch because that made everyone go on a frantic hunt for the idol) and...I don't know, interacting with the kids on reward? That's hardly the stuff of a fun-to-watch character. At least people like Kass and Keith and Abi-Maria -- who are about as unlikely to win -- bring a bit of unpredictability with them. Keith barely knew how to play, but he still caused drama. Woo wasn't even able to do that.

I wouldn't accuse Woo of not bringing any unpredictability to the game. I mean, even he thought it was crazy to bring Tony with him to the Final 2.

Granted he said that before he did it, but still.

I'm interested in how Abi plays this time around. I bet she won't be nearly as obnoxious. It's kinda funny because during the season I was an RC fan and hated Abi but that changed fast post season and I don't know why. I previously stated I'm rooting for Vytas and Ciera but Abi is high up there for me too.

RC is really, really fake. Apparently the big blowup with her and Pete early on was that she was trying to push him into a "showmance" for camera time.

She also caused all kinds of drama at Ponderosa.

And she uses that fake little giggle of hers as a friggin period Hehe

Know what I mean hehe

I hope to never see her again hehe

Abi-Maria was super-annoying while she was competing (apart from when her mom came out for the loved ones challenge, and she showed signs of being a real person), but as soon as she got voted out she turned it off. She performed against expectations as a juror, and the general impression she's left since then has been that she's a fairly sane, normal person. It'll be interesting to see if she goes back to being a crazy diva once she's competing again, or if she'll rein it in and try something new.

Shane is live with Rob C. right now.

He's basically saying that everyone (including him) was going hard on pre-game alliances

EDIT: And he's confirmed he's done with Survivor. This was our last chance. :(

I did my part in voting for Shane daily. Shame we were robbed of the entertainment he would have brought.

Yeah, this was bad because he's simply aging out of the show. :(

Woo on the ballot is something they will regret.

Interview is amazing so far, I just got to the Jeff story. He's so much more tolerable on cigs.

Shane had a 4 person pregame alliance but he doesn't name names. Terry and Vytas are probably two of them though. Sounds like Spencer, Tasha, and Ciera got something going pregame. Kass was apparently pretty desperate during the pregame. Doesn't sound like anyone wants to align with her.

Haven't finished the interview yet but it's pretty great so far.

Pregame alliance info: Almost everyone is doing it. He got contacted by 26/35. Discounting Mike/Sabrina, that's 26/33. Did not hear from Spencer, Ciera, Kelley W., Tasha. Monica/Ciera he thinks are together due to them eating together. That group being linked up definitely makes sense. Also, thinks Vytas is in that crowd.

Kass doing a ton, offered him F5.

Shane had a pregame 4-person alliance. Based on his comments (and it being obvious), one of those was Terry, who has 2 others w/ him going in.

Interesting implication: Kelly was in the pregame mix, and I think she was one of his group of 4. Vytas was definitely not in that group. Neither was Stephen.

He thinks the Old v Young thing will come up huge in divisions.

He thinks Stephen's kind of isolated out there and is an easy pickup for whoever grabs him. Same thing w/ Abi-Maria. (Makes sense, given what seasons they're coming from.)

He really thinks Spencer/Joe/Shirin are in trouble.

I would guess Jeremy, PG, and Terry for his pre-game alliance, or someone else in place of Terry. Reddit thinks Kimmi might have been in there.

None of this is going to matter in 3 days time lol. They'll all be split up on different tribes and they'll all forget or doubt what allegiances they really had and if they're on a minority opinion or if they realised they've aligned with a challenge beast they will jump ship in a heartbeat...

Meanwhile non-strategists Keith Woo and Kelly will get to the Final 3.

I mean, yeah, like half the pregame alliances are going to fall apart the second they hit the beach for a variety of reasons.

Shanes was a stealth bomber alliance ala Dani/Jason, so it could end up super-dangerous.

The big ones will def blow up.

Shane Powers: "Kass is the first boot no matter what happens."

He was also sure Joe and Spencer would be first out. He was all over the place with that.

Just to be clear, Kass going premerge wouldn't surprise me at all. She's so fickle that unless something stuck pre-game she'll have an uphill battle.

Probably. A lot of them blow up, but some do stay intact (Gervase/Tyson).

No more Shane on Survivor is great news. Now Rob just needs to stop wasting airtime on the douche bag.

You really do have awful taste in pretty much everything. It's a legitimate tragedy that he's not there.

Anyone else think Fishbach is in deep trouble given his standing amongst hardcore players? I'm hoping we don't see him booted early ala Rob C in All Stars simply because he's too good at the game.

I do think this season is going to have major twists and curve balls. What old twist do you think it works best with all returnees?

Poor Boston.

Yeah I've got a bad feeling something like that might happen.

Let's hope not because if he can survive the first one or two he should be able to carve out some alliances.

Positively for him, there's plenty of other threats there too so he may slip by unnoticed. People like Joe, Shirin, Kass, Abi and Kimmi are going to be in trouble early.

Ciera will be in trouble too. Regardless of any alliances she may have, she's very weak in challenges. And despite whatever Shane says, Joe being a young strong guy could very easily save him in the early going.

Why don't you like him? I have no doubt that it'd be no fun to be stuck with him on an island for days/weeks on end, but he made his season so much fun to watch.

I want her and Spencer to somehow wind up in alliance, just so she can stab him in the back and blow his game up a few more times.

I'd like to see every player given an immunity idol at the start of the game. As always idols can be played for yourself or another. Everyone knows that they each have an idol and they're told that there are no hidden idols.

Would produce a lot of blindsides and could potentially lead to some crazy shenanigans late in the game if heaps of idols are still in play.

I almost want to take everything Shane was saying with a grain of salt just because he seems very biased toward older players or people from older seasons. Which would kind of be obvious for who he'd get along with but at the same time I think he automatically is biased toward favoring those people. Pretty much all he was saying was the new school or younger players all are in trouble. Meh, I don't put much stake in Shanes perception of the pre game.

Daaaaaamn, that would be so crazy. It also fits with the theme of the season (second chances).

Edit: Although, there should be a limitation. What if everyone plays their idol at the same time?

Everything he said should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. Not only is he biased (about a lot of different things), but everyone is making deals going into this. His special alliance could very easy have blown up or not meant as much to the other members, as everyone was apparently running major pre-gaming plans. You never really know until they all hit the beach and the game (and twists) start unfolding. Also, I like the guy, but he is pretty crazy lol.

That said, everything that the bitter 11 say is/will be very interesting to take into consideration. Especially once the season starts airing. I don't doubt the one alliance he outed, but anyone could've guessed a lot of those people would've linked up.
