Like I said, he did what he had to do - and by doing that he made it impossible to win. Runner-up was the best he was ever going to get. He was in a really unique situation, though, I don't really hold his loss against him much at all. It's like Hatch coming back and getting second. Some people are put in tough positions and to get out of them they have to pretty much accept a second place finish at best (not talking about someone like Russell who's just an idiot - talking about a very small group of players like Dan/Hatch/etc. - one of the many reasons I hate returning player seasons, it complicates things too much)

I always thought they could have a Survivor Canada on a Haida Gwaii island. It's remote with an interesting native history. Not exactly tropical, but a summer taping would be hot enough for some skin. Plenty of locations have been cold and rainy, so a Survivor Canada would be a change from the typical tropical island location.
