Switch 2 debuts as fastest selling hardware in US history

Preemptively for all the folks in the salt mines currently...

We can send DK down there to help dig you folks out! Just say the word.

Impressive, but early sales for big consoles like this isn't supply vs demand. It is only supply.

Credit to Nintendo for the large supply though. Much better than the people who spent over a full year trying to track down an unsold PS5.

Supply is definitely the main factor.

But let's not act like half this place was pretending no one would buy it because of the price.

Great console. They really only have to address the poor screen and Game Key Cards situation, and it will be an amazing console. Pretty confident they will during the lifespan of the Switch 2.

They were really well prepared for this launch, super impressive work from Nintendo.

Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, and Prime 4 in the first year is a good line up. We just need a new Xenoblade next year to keep the ball rolling. I wish they would remake Prime 2 and 3 like they did the first one

but don't worry guys, pretty soon everyone that wanted one will have got one and those sales will dry right on up

incredible console and what a launch. Shame about the shit screen that will force me to upgrade to an OLED, the rest though is perfect for me.

And what about that Donkey Kong? - So goooood!

Crazy numbers. Switch 2 poised to dominate the industry for the foreseeable future. I haven't got a hold of one yet, need to get on it ASAP

I'm surprised we didn't get Prime 2 and 3 remaster before 4, would be a good buildup to release them in september and bam, Prime 4 november.

Looking forward to Metroid being another banger. Probably a more "controlled" success as that property isn't as popular as Mario Kart, but hopefully other publishers will take notes. Focus more on fun and people from all sorts of demographics will play your games.

Its because its easy to get, its widely available everywhere even today. Nintendo did a great job with getting supply in order, but if rumors are true they have been stockpiling for 3 years prior to launch since the console was already done, so not surprising.

Damn, imagine Sony holding onto the best-selling video game console record for 2 decades and Nintendo just beating it back to back.

PS5 was very hard to get unless you wanted to pay extortion prices for one.

I did not....

Was not a need to really have one on day one anyways....

Screen I can see them addressing with OLED refresh. I don't see keycards going away though.

Impressive launch sales either way as Nintendo was able to have a lot of supply for the launch.

What's impressive to me is that they can keeping it all together with all that freedom.
I'm playing it in a fairly controlled way with some occasional plowing through everything sessions. Everything works perfectly. Then one of my kids is playing it too but in a whole different way, decimating whole maps into nothing - and it still just works!

After placing several previous orders and canceling and watching systems in stock on BB website all day yesterday, I have made the final decision to join the club. I figure I would get it eventually and will get my monies worth over the next several years. Now I can officially say I have contributed to the successful launch. You're welcome GigaBowser GigaBowser . :messenger_winking_tongue:

Edit - even better. Ordered from Target and with 5% off red card and $50 in gift certificates.
