Taiko Drum Master

This game rocks. So happy I picked it up, I love drumming and music games, so it was an easy decision to get this. So far I totally love it, easy isn't TOO easy, normal is a good challenge and hard is brutal. But in time, I will own this game :D

As for the drums themselves, sometimes it isn't as responsive as I would like. I think this has to do more with my technique than anything though, and you've got to hit them with a good wallop to have all the hits register. It's not bad, but I wish it were a tad bit more sensitive...overall though, this game is awesome. Make the rhythm action game loving side of me very very happy :)

Pretty much just avoid the middle of the drum which is a dead zone. Other than that you should be fine.

Overall, I prefer Donkey Konga, I must say, due to the responsiveness of the Kongas, which trumps the Drum.

The design and graphics of Taiko have it all over DK though.

When I first got it, I played Dragon Spirit on Medium and full comboed it. I figured everything would be easy after that, but hard is pretty challenging, and Oni has some friggin' ridiculous songs. Except for occasional problems with the drum not registering hits (which is killer in Oni mode), I love it.

I llike the DK drums better than the taiko, but the difficulty of the songs on Taiko puts it ahead for me. C'mon Namco, give us some challenging songs in DK2!

I also give Konga the slight edge, despite Taiko's more satisfying difficulty and much better track list. The input is everything, and in this instance the kongas trump all.

I just enjoy the actual feel of using drumsticks and hitting the drum hard in Taiko Drum Master. It really feels and sounds like you're drumming... well... because you are I guess, especially on the harder levels if you do it right.

The Kongas are more responsive but just kind of feel like a toy input device more than a drum. The actual sound that it makes as you're using them doesn't sound very good either.

The song selections are kind of a wash between the two.
4 player at a party is pretty fun on DK, in its defense.
Taiko's Hard and Oni levels are actual exercise when you're done playing after a while. Almost feels like you've done a set of curls.
