There were rumors that GTA was going "woke" a couple of years ago. Is it possible that they went all in on this woke shit and when they saw all the backlash, they had to retract? Edit story elements and what not? hmmmmm

Rockstar's been working on it since at least GTA3 on some level. For that matter, Kojima's likely been working on DS2 since before DS on some level.
IIRC, TLOU2 contains a bunch of elements that Bruce Straley fought to keep out of TLOU.
Any sequel is generally going to have some aspects that arrived before they had a place to go.

GTA5 has 3 protagonists and GTA6 has 2.
With any luck GTA7 will be back to the winning format of ONE protagonist GTA.

They we're confident GTA IV, RDR2 and GTA V would have anymore delays as well. I can easily see this getting pushed back to September, October or November. In fact I expect it. I'll just be surprised if they don't end up delaying it to 2027.
