Tanked an exam? Let's cry together

Well, I just took my labor econ exam..I think I did alright but we'll see, there's always a curve though.

But the real story is that I didn't even bother taking one final. Easiest class ever, but I just stopped going and doing the online quizzes. Bombed the first test with a 65, 85 on the second but because of the quizzes I would have maybe scraped a D with a 100. So I said fuck it. Really pissed at myself for this, since it could have been a GPA booster if I didn't procrastinate. I'm not sure how much I can bring up my GPA in two more semesters, but I need to get my act together.

My grade estimates:

Investments - B+
Information Technology in Finance - A-
Computer Literacy - C (was lazy in this one too, should have taken it pass fail)
Labor Econ - B+
Developmental Econ - B
Intro to Finop Management - F

I guess it was better than last semester in that I didn't show up drunk to some finals but my cumulative GPA is gonna be like a B- now.

I have 3 tests tomorrow all jumbled into one. 5 hours (not counting breaks)

Probably won't tank but damn the butterflies are already swarming in my belly.

Pretty frequently tanked physics tests back in undergrad.

Guys I'm seriously considering changing my major to History education or some shit if I do as badly this semester as it feels like I am. And that's assuming I can keep my GPA at a 3.0, otherwise I lose my financial aid and I don't know what I'll do.

I get A's on almost all of my homework and projects, but I've been absolutely bombing my exams this year (with a couple exceptions). But I don't want to feel like 2 years and like $30,000+ was wasted on engineering. I guess I'm freaking out a little prematurely. I should at least wait and see what my grades look like after curves are applied.

This would all be so much less stressful if there wasn't so much worrying over money involved.

I took my final final last night. As I was walking into the classroom my stomach did a somersault and I realized I had a spontaneous case of the shits. My teacher was also one of those "You can't leave the room once we start because I'm super paranoid about cheaters" type.
I was writing furiously the entire time in a desperate attempt to finish simply so I could use the bathroom. I'm not sure if the things I wrote are even legible or not.
Sucks. I was very prepared and confident too. If I do bad it won't be because I didn't know the material but because I had an upset stomach. Hopefully I did ok.

Seriously, FUCK multiple choice math exams. No partial credit on problems that take up half a page of work is goddamn bullshit.

Lol <3 multiple choice math exams.

I managed to actual test out of the two required math classes (as an English/History teaching major) simply because I could work backward from the multiple choice options to find the right answers....and/or just plug in random numbers for x, y, and z in both the problem and the possible solutions and see which comes out the same. So many tricks.

I couldn't even pass the beginning math but I am a wiz at multiple choice. (could probably be great at math if I tried but no motivation.)

Yeah, Multiple Choice Calculus exams are so stupid, and I remember Physics Multiple Choice exams WERE WORSE!

Imagine your answer for a problem being 36 and the options being...No partial marks for work..

a)36
b)-36
c)36.0
d)35.9

I got lucky in my Finite Math exam, ended up getting an 82 on the final (I suck badly at Math btw), and my final grade ended up being a 79.8, which was subsequently rounded up to a B.

Now I have a B instead of a C on my transcript (YUUUSSS).

Btw, how bad is it to have four to five Bs? (I have about the same amount of As)

I tanked my economics exam. Or at least, I think I did. I blanked on the stuff we had learned since the last test (About two weeks of material). Had to guess like a 1/4 of the test. To be fair, I felt pretty good about the rest of the test.

Disappointing too because I was doing well in the class up until test 5 and the exam.

I got 49/100 on my first accounting test this quarter (25% of my grade).

Even worse was that my teacher put all of the class grades on the board and mine was by far the lowest. Felt terrible.

I have an Intro to the Fashion Industry final tomorrow that I'm probably going to tank. I need to work on this one project for another class so I'll have no time to study today =_=
Today I took my Integrated Marketing final and I don't feel confident about that grade as well lmao

Got a Calc 1 exam tomorrow. I've done well on all of the tests, but fuck, not looking forward to it.

I got a 0 on my 5th and final Financial Mathematics exam because it was one that needed to be printed out and turned in on the last day. Thing is, the Prof only mentioned it one time since early November so I completely forgot about it. still got a 79 in the class but I definitely learned my lesson.

I don't know OP sounds like you kinda deserved to make a bad grade. Usually these things are announced several times during class time.

I used the whole 3 and a half hours of my Administrative Law exam (100%) to study for some Commerce exam (60%) that I had immediately after. I submitted a booklet of Commerce revision and an apology note punctuated with a ":)".

Long story short, Administrative Law = 0. Statsorwhateverthefuckitwas = 50. Best. Move. Ever. Strategic fails are where it's at, mang.

Could you explain this, because everything you wrote in the second paragraph was confusing. Was your AdminLaw exam 100% of your grade, or you had 100% going into the exam and ended up with a 50? I'm not sure the wisdom of this unless your class is seriously curved, because a 0 and a 50 are both failing grades...

And let me know where you plan on practicing law.

Last time I sat an exam I was gunning for an A+ and got an A. I was seriously pissed off.

True story

No, 100% on all my courses this semester.

Oh, overall? yeah, several.

Wait until you take the physics GRE and you have to recall concepts from 3 years ago and then have 5 answers that always try to dick with you in that way. It actually becomes excellent test taking strategy to eliminate some of the answers based on simple physical implausibility. It's really fucking stupid.

wrote a math exam today, other than the other two exams ive been to two classes, got a 60% on the first one (25%), a 45% on the second(25%) and neeed a 67 on the exam (35%)to pass the course. so what did i do to catch myself up from the 2nd test (which i failed) and bring me up to speed to write the exam? i waited untill 7 hours before the exam started to start learning the material so i could do the review :( i only forgot 10% of the test, so im hoping i didnt make more than 20% in mistakes

Sucked so much at physics AP that I handed in a blank test on more than one occasion. Only passed that class due to the teacher's mercy.

That was senior year of highschool though, only test in university I've done badly on was my Political Science class if only because my teacher enjoys being a douche with his tests.

I got my undergraduate in Physics...

I switched to MSE for my graduate degree so that I didn't have to take the Physics GRE, haha.

Two Finals this term. Studied like hell for the first which I took today and think I did well, now I'm cramming for the one tommorrow and probably won't do as well.

My AP Calc teacher loved multiple choice exams like the MC Calc exams mentioned earlier in the thread. I was freaking out when I got 36/50 on one of his tests (yeah I had high standards in high school)

I ended up getting the highest score.

I remember walking into linear algebra in college after missin a few classes and seeing some papers being passed out. O good I thought, review sheet for the midterm. Turns out it was the midterm D: I still managed to do decent on it, but I still remember the horror. It was straight out of a nightmare.

I don't know if I tanked it but I'm fairly confident that there was a problem on my Statistics exam that involved something we never covered in class and was never covered in the book. Pissed me off, I even wrote on the test "we have never employed the chi-squared analyisi for two sample distributions, I have no idea what the test statistic is"

Got my Math one next week and I'll have a bunch of those, so stupid. Have a Psyc one tomorrow which I'll probably do okay on. Have 3 in a row next week (Math/Sociology/Economics) I'm worried about though since I slacked off studying near the end to focus on assignments.

Here's a story my college roommate apparently still tells people: in one of the intro Poli Sci classes, the grade was determined by by two (maybe three, it was quite a while ago) papers, two midterms, and a final. I did the first paper, took the first midterm, then proceeded to give so little a shit (an unfortunate trend throughout my college career) that I blew off the remaining lectures, papers, midterms AND final, AND didn't even bother to drop the course. I got a C. I don't know what happened, maybe it was a mistake, but I chuckle about it. College was a weird time for me. I knew I was more than capable of doing extremely well, but couldn't get it in myself to try because I never had to before (go public schools -_-), and quite frankly, had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. I went to UC Berkeley, but only because my mom made me. I was fully prepared to take easy street on my way to a degree.

theres a difference?

so glad i never had to take Calc. i woulda choked a bitch.

I had Genetics (Second Year) & Organic Chemistry I finals back to back this past Saturday. Thought I failed both.

I was relieved to find out today that I passed both courses. Definitely not with the grades I'd like, but considering how difficult that day was for me, I'm not complaining.

I had my first college final ever today, but I think I did well!

It was environmental geography.

To the OP: you go to UofT right?

No kidding -- I've got an o-chem final tomorrow... bring it!
Good luck! :D Oh organic chem 2...I barely passed that class (but I also did close to zero studying :P). To answer your question, if organic chem. 1 "clicked" with you or you just straight up memorized everything, organic 2 is really just more of the same stuff.

Got a 10/100 on my last ochem test. That's okay though considering I got A's on the others and I get to drop this one

too much shit happened at once, and I didn't have any time to study

Tanked my philosophy midterm. Pissed as shit cause I thought it was good (but apparently not good enough...) and got a 65/100.

Did the finals, worked on it for a week (essay), grades dont get posted till monday. DAMNIT!

I got a 66 on my Accounting exam but I ended with a C, thank God. If I got below a C I had to take it again. It sucks that I probably had the worst teacher of my life for a pretty hard class, and then they make the final fucking impossible.

I did okay in my other classes but I am so pissed that in one I had 541 pts total (an A-) and you need 542 to make an A and she didn't give me the 1 pt :( Shit is so annoying cause I hardly ever make A's (you can't make A+ at my college).

ya so I finished my exams today. Fairly sure I got B's on all of them :P Lack of studying was rampant. At this point, with the amount of work I put in, I'm fine with a C. lol

My tests were embarrassingly easy. Only one that threw me off was the last test (not final) for Calc 2.

After the first test I basically did the bare minimum since I had a 110% average. Last test had too many questions for anyone to answer in 40 minutes. Everyone bombed so she threw a ridiculous on it and I got an 80 which made my final average a 90.2 (just enough for an A). Felt awesome.

Guys I'm seriously considering changing my major to History education or some shit if I do as badly this semester as it feels like I am. And that's assuming I can keep my GPA at a 3.0, otherwise I lose my financial aid and I don't know what I'll do.

It sounded like you got a crappy math class. I know it sounds cliched, but don't give up. If you give up you will, in a few years, wish you could go back and work a little bit harder. If you actually try you will overcome your barriers. I know it sucks now and it sucks thinking about what you actually have to do to get to a point where you are happy, but the best part of having something suck now is the feeling after you finish it and are satisfied with the way you did it. The financial aid requirement sucks (I have the same 3.0 minimum but lucked out with easy classes thus far), but if you try really hard for what work you have left in that class and come up short, talking to your professor will help.

I did pretty well, my brother on the other hand failed calc again... for the fourth time... I have no fucking clue how to help him pass that class.

Also this semester is the semester that really made me hate the curving system, since it means that I'm actively wishing for my peers to do worse so that I'll come out better by comparison.

Took my Discrete Math one, and I'm an older college student (28). Bombed that shit from orbit. But because the rest of the class bombed even harder, the curve got me an A. Would've had a C, at best, without the curve.

Has anyone ever had a final exam where they see questions and think, "What the FUCK is this? Did we even do this?" That's the worst feeling in the world. I just get irritated when something rings a bell but I just can't quite remember, but when it's totally new to me, I panic. On the Discrete test, I had a "am I even in the right room?" moment.
