Tech companies want cloud and sub to be mandatory for games

Hes a knowledgeable tech guy but his persona has shifted in recent years to just be a guy who complains at everything.

Haven't watched this video yet so I dont know if its warranted but ive found most of his whining isnt

What's wrong with whining when you are correct? Would he be better with MSI/Asus money on his account and praising those firms in every video?

He is 100% correct in this video. Tech companies are fucking all of us in the ass and at the same time US government if giving them (tax payers) money.

Generally speaking, a computer needed to stream still meets the requirements to play games locally. In fact, smart tvs also allow you to download mobile apps and games that run on the hardware.

Sure. Mobile games have plenty of options in the home and won't be affected by any push to cloud. It is the PC and console games that I think is the concern. Either way, I don't think it really matters. Local gaming hardware will always be available.

I've already written to congress members about the Intel money spent. Time to write another letter.
The amount of my tax money going to big tech, I want stopped.
I would rather buy cheap china than have my tax dollars go to buy another factory that doesn't produce things for ME.

Based.

aren't there US sanctions in place to stop them having the equipment to make modern chips?

They've allegedly hit 3nm with DUV this year, it's more expensive than EUV. But if anyone will drive costs down through the floor its the Chinese.

There's a lot to complain about.

This shit will hurt, and hurt hard next year.

If all you need is a TV to play games then no one will buy PC hardware... as a consequence no one will have a PC... as a consequence no one will need Windows... as a consequence MS will have screwed themselves.
Lol no? People nerds Pc for competitive games. Tvs Will play compressed 1080p @ 30 FPS and low settings

You also need a computer to even want to sign up for internet.

Smart tvs are computers, they have ram and everything, often in similar amounts to pcs from 4gb to 16gb
If it's like the local cable comapany you have to take off all afternoon from work, go to the local provider and stand in line.

Sometimes in life youve gotta remove the whiners... sure hes right but when its just constant negativity its just a bummer effect it can have on you personally

Again I agree hes knowledgeable... but when I was subbed to nexus every video was like, ok how you gonna bum us all out this time today dude.

RAM is already coming from there and is bought en masse by giant tech companies, there's no dumping of cheap RAM as if it was shirts or somethig like that
And China also has giant tech companies and government who are as much into AI as the US if not more. Plus they all have a "nice" censorship side hustle, now with AI.

That takes RAM, amongst other things.

There is NOTHING positive about this situation with no hope in sight, consumer market for hardware will be fucked for next 12 months or more. Other tech channels are talking about this with the same level of negativity.

Only people that are happy about this are shareholders and folks that are connected in some way with all this Ai crap. We are going into Cyberpunk future where corporations are more important than countries.

He talks about recent news when it comes up. He has plenty of other content regarding hardware. I wouldn't say he is constantly negative. It is just the negative stuff that gets the most attention

It doesn't change the fact that if your feed of anything on any platform is filled with whiners, you're inevitably gonna end up with a similar mindset.

Like it sucks for sure, I'm definitely not upgrading my PC anytime soon, but my life isn't over because of that fact. It sucks, but what can we do?

Purge the whiners, go out into the world and find something good instead.

I get what you are saying but there are not many good things going on, hahaha. World is getting worse and worse.

This is the entire point of Gamepass. Luckily, it has failed.
I don't think the point was ever locking any game behind the sub. They never did anything close to that.

"Oh but they might have," is baseless conjecture.

I'd say the positive thing out of all of this is that the massive demand for the AI gold rush is pushing for the construction of more semi-conductor fabs, as well as reesearch on alternative materials and building methods to improve production scalability, endurance, etc. Much like the .com bubble, which oversaw the creation of massive infrastructure for internet transmition, it later paved the way for cheap internet at great speeds.

Sooner or later, the demand for these chips for AI will fall. Even if AI isn't a bubble, they can't keep building new datacenters forever, and when that happens all this infrastructure and tech will have to sell their stuff to someone.
