Teens react - Oculus Rift horror

I mean specifically with the Oculus Rift. P.T. + VR... now that's something I'd want to see.
Eh, we'd need to find some let's players who have never seen P.T. for VR P.T. to make an entertaining video. And of course VR P.T. would need to exist, but oh well.

What does the right analogue stick do when playing with Oculus? Assuming the left stick is still for movement and the head tracking is for the looking around?

Why does this have to be "Teens react to.."? You could take anyone off of the street of any age, sit them in front of a camera and you would get the same thing.

It's great for wusses like me who can't stand horror and can use these videos to laugh at people to do get scared from these things.

Not for the only people who'll buy it it's not.
Honestly, if you have friends over, its something that would be pretty damn fun to pass around to each other trying out cool stuff. Mirroring allows people to watch what you're seeing as well.

There's even some ideas being thrown around where people 'on the outside' would have a controller of some sort and would mess with your friend(or whoever) with the headset on through in-game actions.

Was the framerate of the footage we saw accurate?

That seems like a slight problem...
Most Youtube vids are only going to output 30fps.

Oh, I completely get that, but it just seemed to slow down rather often.

I haven't gotten my hands on a dev kit yet, because I'm waiting patiently for the consumer version instead, but I'm guessing the framerate isn't a problem then?

The rift doesn't actually adjust your heading (at least in this instance), its movement is only relative to where your character's body is facing.

Its entirely possible it was dropping. I did notice some choppiness here and there, but its also possible it was just the recording software.

And framerate is definitely still a concern on the dev kit. Dropping frames wont feel good. You want to run as consistent a 75fps as you can.

Being someone who's easily afraid of horror stuff, I really enjoyed this video a lot. Oculust Rift looks crazy fun, I love how tilting your head actually does so in the game itself too.

I hope the Morpheus will be half as good as the oculust rift when it comes out.

These Oculus reaction videos are so good. I can't wait until the real thing is out and there's more VR content out there.

I need to buy an Oculus Rift.

And some Depends.

The Oculus Amazon store page is going to be so good.

"Customers also bought..."

yeah. it made sense when it was older stuff, but now it's just teens reacting to new technology. who gives a shit? it"d be more interesting to see old people react to Oculus.

Man, the horror in that game is SO cheap, haha

It's seriously just one little girl who keeps screaming at your face, and they use it so many times, they assume you'll just look away so they attach her to your camera.

No one naturally reacts or converses like that, other than when a camera is trained on them for a youtube video

Uh.... go watch videos of people in haunted houses. Most don't know they are being recorded in that instance. Yet they have very similar reactions.

The sound maybe? That being said it's obvious that they were playing it up for the camera.

Keep in mind most (all?) of these teens have had little to no exposure to the Oculus I believe. Most peoples first experiences are going to be a little weird. The first time I used a rift it was a very surreal experience and I didn't start with a Horror game.

Press a button and door opens => "What the fuck? That is so creepy!" :P

How was it scary?
The way he only needed to check the button to select which one to press instead of actually needing to select the button with the controller is surely what he meant by it.

Select by looking which floor you want -> press A

Select which floor with controller -> press A

edit: Yeah, what Corpekata said.

Ugh, lord. Was I that obnoxious as a teen? I hope not. I'd like to think not.

Oculus looks so cool. I haven't tried it. I hope Morpheus ends up being as good.
