================================================================================
Hey all, I now officially welcome you to the first Tekken 6 GAF tournament.
Since the number of people that signed up for the tournament was under the minimum for GAF's tournament specialist Kadey, she decided to pass on this. Feeling like this is a real missed opportunity I just decided to organize it in my own little bootleg version of a tournament. The rules will be a little sketchy and half-assed, but hey, it's all for the sake of fun.
I also apologize for the amateur official thread design... it's my first time attempting one of these and everything here was done in MS Paint. You guys should really kneel before Kadey, doing threads like these is no joke.
I've taken a lot of liberties with this one, so I hope everyone agrees. Due to the existence of lag, for the first round Ive divided the contestants for the tournament into 4 pools: West Coast, East Coast, Pacific, and Europe. The format is the exact same as the world cup. Every player plays against every other contestant in their pool. Once a match has been finished please post the results in this thread and Ill update this first post. At the end, due to the numbers in each pool, the Top 3 for West & East Coast and 1st in Pacific & Europe pools will advance to round 2. The rules for Each of the rounds are written down a little further this post. See below for the pool placement:
- Pool Europa
(x) Because no one in the European pool managed to play their games, and I couldn't get any matches with any of them... the only fair means of continuing on with the tournament and filling the vacancy of a European pool champion is to replace it with the next highest ranked member in the pools. That individual was Finakia and he was the only person with 2 sets of victorious matches out of all the pool players that did not qualify.

This is where the highlighted contestants from the table above will compete in an 8 man tournament to obtain the true King of Iron Fist on GAF! Once again check below for the specific rules that'll come into play here.
AAK (Armor King) beats -DarKaoZ- (Lili) 3-2 (3:1,2:3,3:2,0:3,3:2)
Lyte Edge (Alisa) beats CcrooK's Wife (Lili) 3-0 (3:2,3:2,3:2)

- Round 1
- Best of 3 Sets (First to 2 wins)
- Each Set consists of Max 5 rounds (First to 3 wins)
- 60 sec round limit
- Winner of the set must stick with his/her character, only the loser get's to switch his/her character
- The rules for pool play will be first to win 2 sets of the standard 5 round matches. Since the pools will be organized based on region, these matches should have the least lag so I think 2 sets is alright considering how many matches have to be played at the pool levels. Now let's look @ a scenario of a pool:
Player 1 vs Player 2, Player 1 beats Player 2 2-1 (3:1,2:3,3:0)
Player 3 vs Player 4, Player 3 loses to Player 4 0-2 (1:3,0:3)
Therefore the current tally will look like this:
*This is the number of rounds won subtracted by the number of rounds lost, and only accounts for the first 2 sets - Net Rounds won category is in place just to differentiate in case any ties take place at the end of the round
- All Pool matches must be completed by September 19th (can change depending on circumstances)
- If some matches are left incomplete, the current standing will simply be used to determine a finalist
- In case of a disconnect, repeat that specific set from the beginning
- In the extremely rare scenario of a Double KO in the 5th round of the 3rd set, that set will simply be repeated
- All contestants should pos the results of their matches in the following format:
Player 1 defeated Player 2 2-1 {(3:1,2:3,3:0} |Set ratio {round ratio per set}|
- Round 2
- Quarter finals and Semifinals will be best of 5 sets
- Grand finals will be best of 7 sets
- Remaining rules are retained from Round 1
- For now this is single elimination, but if popular demand requests it, there can be a loser's bracket
