TEKKEN 7 releases June 2nd (PC/XB1/PS4, Season Pass, Eliza, more details)

This is going to lead to questionable fan art, isn't it?

Sorry, everyone. I didn't mean for this to turn into a giant argument. I was really just wondering if there was an English move-list/frame-data guide somewhere in number pad notation. Like, I'm genuinely just struggling with this. I can't even begin to figure any of King's or anyone's moves based on the English sites. I can't tell where the throws are in this list: http://rbnorway.org/king-t7-frames/

Number notation is for anime fighters. Nothing wrong with it because it makes lots of sense, but acting like it's used homogeneously among all fgs isn't true.
Sure, not all fighting games... but why does the Asian Tekken community use number-pad notation and not the English-speaking community? That's the point I'm trying to make. It's like you're trying to be different and more complicated just for the sake of being different. It's weird.

Five minutes with this and you're good

Have you looked at a movelist? I can't even figure out what the first line below is. What's the difference between lowercase f and uppercase? That's not in your photo. Your guide doesn't explain move #1. Plus, what's WS? SS? FC? What's that thing about the spins? Do I throw my controller in the air and spin it so many times? This is it's own language.

It's not like the number notation or the number directional are some crazy secret code. Would you like 9RP or 3LK instead of what's already there for Tekken?
Yes. Look at this. It's beautiful.

NRS games like MK and Injustice also use that notation. It is not weird. Why do you have to make it only about the Tekken community?
Just not familiar with those games, sorry. Nothing sinister intended.

What in the fuck?
I've never seen this garbage before. Is this some Marvel crap? Get it away from me.
pretty sure only weeb games use this notation
The Asian Tekken community uses this notation: http://seesaawiki.jp/w/inatekken/d/%c1%ed%b9%e7TFR

SC / VF / DoA still use numbered notation IIRC. I think it's just the nature of their commands and buttons.
That's my entire fighting game background, hence the issue I'm having.

It takes all of two minutes to learn. Just adjust.
No, it doesn't. It's ass-backwards and would take unlearning a decade of other fighters' notations and inputs.

Edit: I'm just going to have to rely on Asian Tekken sites and Google Translate I guess.

It's kind of amazing how quickly Asuka became irrelavent to the Tekken canon.

Wasn't the fact that she's a Kazama supposed to play a big role? Her Tekken 5 ending suggested she would be able to purify Jin's Devil gene the same way Jun can (from the afterlife, or whatever).

Right after that game, Asuka's sole purpose has pretty much been that everybody just wants dem titties (including Lili).

unfortunately since her ending wasn't canon, her ability to undo the Devil gene may not be either. However, it could still be. Since this is the conclusion of the Mishima saga, she may end up playing a bigger role.

I hate bumping my own threads but I'll bump the story thread next week

In what world is learning f instead of 6 a challenge? Literally saying the directions is far easier than numerical notation. Not to mention faster to type than than the japanese one. Plus looking up CDS or whatever takes a bit of effort once.

You guys think it's worth getting the deluxe edition? Any content I'm not gonna be able to get afterwards?
I'd suggest just getting the base game and then getting the season pass once we have more details.

At this point we have no idea what the actual content is going to be and how high quality it is.

Deluxe Edition costs the same as the base game + Season pass anyway so unless you're getting a good deal, it's worth waiting it out if you have doubts.

speaking of the season pass

when will we know all of its contents

Does anyone know if Tekken usually has multiple language options available? I want to say that previous versions did.

I'm so hyped for this game that I'm tempted to pre-order it off J-PSN. Looks like it will be available Wednesday evening that way.

I get Eliza for pre-ordering any edition for any platform? I pre-ordered standard edition on PC and was expecting to get her, but a friend told me it's only Deluxe edition? He's wrong I hope?

All Day One editions have her. So if you preordered, you should be fine.

If you pre-ordered on Steam then yes you get her even for the standard edition.

But some sites aren't offering Eliza as a pre-order incentive, like cdkeys.com
That too.

Where's the best source of information on this game's feature list? I haven't played a Tekken game in *forever*, but I'm feeling like I might jump back in with this one, especially if there's a ton of single player content.

I don't look at movelists in Tekken. I press buttons and see what works. My Tekken life is much more simple, but just as fun.

I'm somewhere between that and "going pro" in that I'll learn several moves in a character's repertoire, and anticipate playstyles of enemy characters, but I'll never get my head around learning frame advantages and how to punish other people's moves.

you can do that without frame data lol

Tekken direct in my veins please

I cant wait for the release, so excited

I loved T4, invested hundreds of hours, loved how polished and optimized it was for the playstation (incredible fast loading times)

I wish they do the same for ps4

That's not in your photo

Sorry, I assumed we were talking about the basics. Just looking at a number pad doesn't describe everything in that notation system either.

What's the difference between lowercase f and uppercase?
uppercase means hold the direction.

Plus, what's WS? SS? FC? What's that thing about the spins? Do I throw my controller in the air and spin it so many times? This is it's own language.

While Standing a.k.a. rising attacks (it's not WR because that's used for While Running), Side Step and Full Crouch. Spin is a character specific thing, I assume that's King's move list?

It's not unique to this system to have special states and character specific stuff. If you come across something you don't know then refer to the full legend and it will soon become second nature.

That's my entire fighting game background, hence the issue I'm having.

I play VF and SC too. I can read both and I'm hardly a unique case, it really doesn't take that long to get used to.

And season pass owners will get a new game mode in the summer.

anyone know if i'll still get the Eliza dlc if i buy it from PSN the day of release? I have a 20% off code but it doesn't work with pre orders.

Highly doubt it. You have to buy it the day before latest.

That kinda stuff usually doesnt work anymore after midnight.

If I end up competing I got to find a new secondary. My main is gone in this game and while I used to play Hwoarang for three titles in a row, I realized in 6 that I suck with him.

Hair options are worrying! I want hwo's tekken 6 feathered hair!

I don't think it's in. Everyone just has their defaults (old and new in the case of Hwo), rainbow versions of their defaults (gold too if you have the season pass) and then 10 generic premade hairs created using the hair creation options from 6 and Tag 2.

Shiit okay so, i used to play the shit out of the Tekken games when i was a kid, i first played either tekken 1 or 2 at my neighbors, and later i got tekken 3 on ps1 when i was a kid. Some years later i got tekken 4 on the ps2 and played the absolute shit out of it, like i did with 3. Never got into the tekken 5 to 6 or tag tournament era, but i played tons of tekken 5 at a friends house around 2011 or something. I have alot of nostalgic love for fighting games, but i never really got into them as much as i probably would have wanted in my teenage years. Spent some time on mortal kombat 9 on xbox 360, and i actually bought tekken 6 at one point, only to turn it in like 2 days later for reasons i don't remember.
Got street fighter IV near it's endgame there and had tons of fun, but once again, thinks eventually took focus.

My main multiplayer games have been the pvp in the souls games, and recently i've been playing tons of for Honor, and it's gotten me so goddamn hyped to maybe finally make a proper jump into fighting games again, and i feel like this release could be a great entry to jump back into it all and relive some nostalgia too, since this is my most memorable fighitng game series.

Has it been out on arcades and stuff for a while? I haven't been keeping tabs on this at all, but uh, does it seem solid?
