Harada stated that Kazuya was not the first Mishima family member to make contact with Devil, and that Kazuya and Jin believe it started with Jinpachi but only Heihachi really knows who it was. Harada also pointed out that neither Jinpachi, Heihachi nor Lars possess the Devil-gene. This may hint towards Kazumi being the first to have the Devil gene and would explain why Jinpachi, Heihachi and Lars do not posses it yet both Kazuya and Jin do.
On Twitter, many fans ask the Tekken creator (Katsuhiro Harada) of Jinpachi and the Devil Gene. Harada stated that Jinpachi didn't possess the Devil Gene and that a revengeful ghost possessed him. Interesting though, in both console versions of Tekken 5, Jinpachi's ending it states that he's possessed by the Devil. Also, in his interlude with Heihachi, Heihachi theorise that his father has the Devil's blood.
Apparently Harada mention it on Twitter that Jinpachi doesn't have the gene.Raonak said:No, I read (tekkenpedia i think) that jinpatchi didn't have the devil gene, that he was possesed by an evil sprit or somthing.
They're trying to imply the devil gene originated from kazuya's mother.
AAK said:Concensus with the reception of those who saw it is that if you like the typical school girl slice of life style Anime stories with a little bit of CGI action-porn in between, youll enjoy the movie. You wont find a whole film centered on badass Mishimas killing one another (which really is what the fans actually wanted) but you will get some entertainment out of it if you've been following the series previously.
Yeah sorry, I didn't give it a complete section within it because it was just going to be redundant since I already described it in the Tekken Hybrid section.fernoca said:Damn, nice thread! :O!
You should add that Tekken 3D: Prime Edition includes Blood Vengeance in 3D too.
AAK said:That was my exact mentality making this thread! So all you fighting game fans wanting to get back into Tekken, feel free to look at all the info in the OP and ask away if you guys need extra clarity
Sayah said:Tekken 3 was the point where some people lost interest in the series due to Eddy (and haven't played it since then) while others became heavily invested in the series. There is this stigma attached with Tekken that it is only button-mashing. Yet the people who say this haven't played the games in depth. Tekken 6 being the most recent has truly one of the deepest and most satisfying fighting systems created yet. In any case, it's one of Namco's best selling franchises and that's probably why we're seeing so much Tekken right now. The shift to Nintendo platforms should also help generate a lot more interest and fans whenever the 3DS and Wii U versions release.
TreIII said:I guess my thing was that, as a guy who's always been more of a 2D fan (KOF, especially), it became harder and harder to stay with the game, when nobody else was playing it. Tekken 4 especially caused a lot of the fallout in my area.
By the time Tekken 5 and later came out, I still never really gave myself an opportunity to get reacquainted with the game. Now all this stuff like the "Bound" system in the mix and it seems like I've now got quite the uphill battle to get back in the game.
But we'll see. If anything, I'll need a "backup" 3D fighter, just in the case that SCV does leave something to be desired! :lol

Did they improve my boy Raven in TTT2? I love using him, but man, I gots to work extra hard for those wins with him LOL.
Nah, that's DR. Tag is good though.Gravijah said:TTT=best OST in the series. The best.
Scenario Campaign is essential for gathering fight money but I don't think you need it to unlock ending movies. I wish they'd go back to doing something like Devil Within from Tekken 5. That was actually much more enjoyable. They also need to bring back the Tekken Ball mode from Tekken 3.Jamie OD said:Great job on the OP.
I'm giving Tekken 6 another shot and it feels good to get back into the groove again. Originally I was very disappointed with it but now I remember it was just because of the Scenario Mode. Curse the person who decided that you have to play through that rubbish in order to unlock the opportunity to get the character ending movies.

What are folks thoughts on TTT2 prologue? On one hand, alot of people, including myself are happy to be able to play tag 2 in some form while waiting for the Tag2 console release. On the other hand, with only 4 characters to choose from, everyone is probably gonna know the in's and outs of those characters by the time Tag 2 hits consoles. I think this can be a good and bad thing. For example if Alisa is your main then you will have plenty of time to master her. But your opponent also has had time to study Alisa as well. With only 4 characters and Tag 2 probably not coming till late 2012 there will be lots of time to memorize those 4 characters frame data, move lists, etc.
I'm just thinking out loud here and am probably not making much sense.

MoonsaultSlayer said:The series always had great characters, themes, and backgrounds on top of all the nicely tuned and animated moves. Unfortunately, some of that spark took a backseat in favor of arcadey-ness. I don't think we'll ever see the generational shift and evolved moves and characters as we saw from 2 to 3 ever again because people just want to see their ageless, self-mocking and parodied favs title after title. Oh well. Long live the tried and true gi you've seen for 16 years.
Thanks man thats reassuring.AAK said:Thanks again for the compliments everyone!
I get what you're saying, but things are bound to change drastically for console release this time around. The Ling/Alisa characters that you'll be playing in Prologue won't have the same move properties and frame data as the final console release. So for all the serious tournament players it won't matter because the old tricks won't necessarily work on them anymore.
But at the same time you do get the hang of movement, timings, just frames and such... so your argument does have merit. All I have to say is.... Better than nothing
The thing that I want to get the most out of TTT2 Prologue is to see how well it performs on console considering the arcade hardware is more powerful than the PS3. At least with them releasing prologue now the Tekken team is getting a handle of all the outstanding issues now so they can really solve them properly for the final release.
I want more info too. I hope Jinpachi has a pimp suit and fedora!Flying Wonkey said:Man I wished there were some more details about customization around. Only details around was this thing

Meh. It's still recycled looks added to a pro-skill style system. Not for me. The day Tekken returns with a neat story/arcade and team battle modes without customizations on AI opponents will make me happy.AAK said:Here's to hoping TxSF might rejuvinate that fondness of seeing everything unique again.

I don't mind that kind of arcadey. I just don't want to face AI opponents in a single player environment that try to simulate the arcade experience by pitting me up against XxDevilKumaxX and their green Kuma with fishnet stockings and a cowboy hat in story modes. Keep that strictly for ghost battle or exhibition modes... that's it.Raonak said:I like the more arcadey tekken. When Tekken tries too seriously... you get Tekken4.
I don't get why they won't change the default clothes though. Miguel is like the only person to have a new set of defaults. too much effort to update the 3D renders? Jack 5 and Jack 6 are the exact same thing!
Speaking of which, anyone know if we might be getting older Jacks?
I want gunjack and jack 2. Costumes atleast. Would be cool to play as Jack4 for the same time.
Are there customizations in Arcade Mode? I haven't touched it in years so I can't remember.MoonsaultSlayer said:I don't mind that kind of arcadey. He was playing guys like Galo, JustframeJames, and Kane who are among Southern California's elite Tekkenites. He just broke his main character's (Jack's) movelist down to the essentials and just played his footsie game. And when an opportunity for a combo rose, he played it safe with the automated tag assault done by just holding the 5 button.
But that's not the point, we play fighting games to have fun and so far TTT2 looks to really bring a fun experience whether you're trying to learn some crumple stun into electric launchers or just playing for the enjoyment of the game.

He provided a good amount of lulz in Tekken 3. That's fo sho. I don't think Namco has rights to him anymore.AAK said:Being perfectly honest, I love the character design of Rolento, but he always looked kinda boring in gameplay, really hope they get real creative with him if they decide to go through with him.
