Tencent: 20 million people now play the Chinese version of Delta Force every day

This figure includes users of both PC and mobile editions of Delta Force.

According to Tencent, due to such high demand, Delta Force ranked in the top five games with the highest DAU in China. It also entered the top three games with the largest gross receipts in the country for July.

For comparison, in April, the game's developers from Team Jade reported that the DAU for the Chinese version of Delta Force was 12 million people. This was already an outstanding result, but it has only improved since then.

The report from Tencent does not disclose the figures for the global version of Delta Force. It also does not mention how many people have played the shooter in total to date.

Game has the same problem Battlefield 2042 had where you have dozens of clones of these quirky operators running around.

Its not unicorn farts bad, but its not my cup of tea either.

I played it for a couple hours when it first came out and I agree. I'd say it's better than 2042 but that's not saying much either. It's an okay game but even on a 4090 I was having performance problems so I dropped it pretty quickly

So it's like FortNite, or Genshin Impact, able to scale to various hardware. This is MS has been waiting to accomplish for the upcoming Xbox mobile store, now that Google has lost its antitrust appeal too.

Sea of Thieves, Grounded 2, bunch of games like that could run on mobile hardware natively.

In its home country? I have the original titles swear this was an American game originally, to be fair had no idea there was a new one.

Developed by TIMI studio group (tencent studios), published by Garena

The 20 million figure is for China alone but similar numbers could be worldwide as the game launched on PC, iOS, Android on April 19th, and is getting Console launch on August 19th.

2016: Novalogic sold the Delta Force IP to THQ
2023: THQ sold the IP to Tencent

I suspect there's not much more than just the name left from the original game, but idk.

There were also other IP involved, here's a list of what was acquired (thanks AI).
  • Comanche Series (helicopter combat simulators)
  • Delta Force Series (tactical first-person shooters)
  • Joint Operations Series (large-scale online military shooters)
  • Armored Fist Series (tank simulators)
  • F-22 Series (combat flight simulators: F-22 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor, F-22 Lightning 3)
  • F-16 Series (combat flight simulators: F-16 Multirole Fighter)
  • MiG-29 Fulcrum (combat flight simulator)
  • Tachyon: The Fringe (space combat action/shooter)
  • Devastation (first-person shooter)

Delta Force is huge. I constantly see it on top of the Steam charts.
Even now 100K active players with average players actually rising since the launch, which I have never seen before.

I stopped playing because of the gigantic amount of cheaters. The top players on the leaderboard were clearly cheating and they didnt even ban them...

Then you have the cheaters that deal in rare items in the game spamming the global chat constantly

And when they got banned they just make a new account because its free.
