Tequila Works is auctioning all their IPs (Deadlight, Rime, Gylt)

Stupid question time.

I have an idea for a game in my head but have absolutely 0 programming experience or knowledge, would buying one of the in development games and loading it into unreal editor be a good way to start learning? Provided the price doesn't for much higher.

Insane. Never seen this before and what's more interesting is that if I, of all people, can afford to buy your IP in cash… it's probably worthless.

Bids keep increasing. I hope whoever gets the RIME IP funds a new game based on it, because I really enjoyed that one.

What is the point of buying any of these? It is not like you will own the games attached to the and the IPs have no weight to them as they are

Rime sold 4 millions units, if the legal documents include publishing and distribution rights the buyer could do as he pleased with the previous entries of said IP (remaster, ports for other platforms) and would earn any residuals from future sales of previous entry on the marketplaces.

If it's not included, the buyer could "only" do new "content" (sequel, movie adaptation, books...)

There so many free resources online, we have no idea of the state of those slices
