Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) - Netflix - Feb 18

I'm not going to lie, i actually quite liked it. Not only was it super gory, but seeing a bunch of millenial SJW's getting sliced and diced was very satisfying.
I mean people seem to be judging this as 'woke' but to me it seemed the producers were taking the piss out of SJW's more than anything.

Seeing gen Z characters in an R-rated film really made me feel my age haha.
The 'sourthern whites are racist' trope was so lame too smh.
The film didn't really hold much tension throughtout, but some of the deaths were pretty visceral. More of a one & done affair for me.

The canceling / social media scene is so tonally jarring, I couldnt stop laughing during it.

That was literally only one character from the town. The dude was more of a towny. Remember after he found

The black guy? He held his hand (initiated it, too) and tried to take care of him as he died. The only one you could say was racist was the old lady but even THEN I think that's stretching it. She had old sensibilities and didn't know you say no longer say "negroes". But she was hospitable towards him. He overreacted and that caused her to be a bit mean to him.

The bus kill scene was AMAZING and satisfying! "you're so cancelled bro!" ... "AAAAARGH!" *death slump* LMBO!

Netflix is rapidly turning into the king of turds. Low effort trite.

For every success there are 50 failures.

It has some gnarly kills, and does not waste any time getting into them, which, we would all agree, was the way to go given how short the run time is. The direction, cinematography and acting are all serviceable; The make-up effects , actually quite good...
However, it pretty much is TCM in name only: The suffocating, dirty atmosphere of the original TH's movie and some of the sequels is definitely gone...burried for good. This is more in line of the Friday the 13th and Halloween entries, imo...

This movie was trash. How stupid can one person be not telling everyone on the bus there's a killer with a chainsaw on the loose after the tires were out. Both times he should've been dead but wasn't. How you gonna walk normally after getting impaled by a rod in your leg?

Seen the leaks. It wants to be Halloween 2018 but it's not earned, Zoomers get savaged by Leatherface and it has a heavy anti gun rhetoric.

Will it be good? No. But it'll still be fun trash.

Impossible. How can you have anti gun rhetoric if people get murdered by a psycho and could have prevented it with firearms? Every horror movie is a gun advertisement. The scarier the movie the bigger the gun you need.

The end with the slow ass car was funny.

Awful. TCM, Scream, Halloween, all down the shitter this past year. Granted TCM has been rough for quite some time now. Every horror movie in the past 2 years that I ancticipate or get hype for have been massive let downs. Even when I go in with low expectations.

I expected it to suck heavily and was quite surprised that it didn't suck that much. Actually I found it kind of entertaining.

What I can't accept though is how some of you talk about Rob Zombie.

Bruh, it's not even up for debate when it comes to Halloween.

Zombie: I fully respect Carpenter's vision. Having said that, fuck not exploring Michael's motivation even if that's how Carpenter wanted it!
Fans: Wait, what?!
Zombie: Yeah, Michael went psycho because people were mean to him, and only his mom tried to look out for him.
Fans: That just alters him into Jason Voorhees 2.0
Zombie: …no, no, err, well I'll get more original with my sequel! Ooh, I know, I'll make Laurie and Loomis completely unlikable! That's never been done before!
Fans: There's probably a reason that's never been done before.
Zombie: Bah, what do you know. I'm sure my two films will be looked back at fondly and not so despised that people scream in joy when Jamie Lee Curtis returns to try to restore this series' good name.

I think it's the most blatant example of why diversty attempt are such failures.. find me a common black person that can identify with the lead character in this movie..
he could have been played by Justin Trudeau in blackface and you would not be able to tell the difference.
