TGS 2014 Prediction Thread

Deep Down will not be present. That was th one thing I was looking for.

I am not even hoping for Last Guardian, Persona 5 and others, so apart from some smaller games - I love Danganronpa - my interest is almost back to zero.

FF Type-0 HD reveal for Japan.. not sure about FFXV. I think a new trailer will be shown. At least I hope so.

Kagari is not in every single topic saying that it'll not be there (XV), so I guess it's finally time to see Nomura's project new face. I'm also very interested in seeing more of Type-0 hd hopefully with a release date already set. I'd love a new FF announced, but chances are little I fear. Maybe an HD remaster?

Probably gonna be there
Disgaea 5 PS4
BloodBorne (maybe showing how MP works)
MGSV (release date)
Tales of Zestiria (release date, i'd love to hear of a PS4 version too)
Ys 8 (since they're going next-gen i'm hoping for something more ambitious than usual)
Tekken 7 gameplay
Persona 5 info blowout (PS4 port please)
Resident Evil Revelaitons 2
Yakuza 6 cross-gen
Gravity Rush 2 (yesss Kat come to PS4)
New SCEJ project
Microsoft Japan Studio game
CyberConnect2's new title

Possible to appear
Deep Down
FFXV (come on they have to show it soon or later, it's time for our goddamn info blowout)
FFT0-HD
Silent Hills
Gust/Idea Factory ps4 projects

Not going to happen but would love for them to be true
Shenmue HD collection (just to test the waters before III)
Ni-no-Kuni 2 for PS4
Rumored Sony AAA RPG
TLG
Dragon Quest XI for Ps4

Besides falcom (ys 8), nis (disgaea 5) and compile heart (neptunia VII) this tgs can go in a lot of unexpected or expected places. I predict that Sony will have at least 2-3 unexpected announcements akin to Wild from gamescom where a cool game is done by a respected developer.

Realistically, I just hope the "otaku ghetto" (NIS/Falcom/Gust/Acquire/Compile Heart etc.) show up in full force showing off new stuff. I really enjoy 90% of their games, and they nearly all get localized.

Y'know, Square Enix could come out and announce Dragon Quest remake but the chances of us seeing it in the west are slim to none, so they're hard to get excited about. At least with these companies, they actively try to sell their licencing rights to the localization houses so we've got a chance of playing them.

Aside from that, I'm just hoping for some mid-tier JRPG's. I know they're a dying breed but it would be awesome to see some Wild ARMs; Star Ocean or Breath of Fire-esque games from some of the bigger pubs.

I´m expecting a new Final Fantasy XV trailer with....10% new footage.

GG, Squeenix.

Oh, Gravity Rush: Unfolded will be great too. I hope they get it right this time.

Indeed. Kagari always shoots everyone done about FFXV turning up at events and I don't think she has for TGS this year.

Time to get hyped for triple FFXV/0-HD/KH3 goodness!

Square Enix :
-Bravely Second playable (the producer said the game is fully playable)
-new DQ Monsters (based on the recent announcement)
-Kingdom Hearts 3D HD remix (an HD version of the game was shown at the end of the 2.5 trailer)
-DQ XI announced for ps4 (but no actual footage)-I think an insider said a big jp IP was returning to sony (and this one could have a huge impact for the ps4)
-no FFXV or KH 3

Atlus :
-Persona 4DAN-no Persona 5 before this one is out (and P5 is more likely a february release imo)

Sega :
-next Yakuza game

Sony :
-No Last guardian (Yoshida said so)
-New gravity rush game for ps4
-New IP or the revival of an old IP from Japan Studio for ps4
-at least 1 new game for psvita

If DQXI is announced for PS4 and is single-player in the veins of DQVIII, I think I am willing to forgive the absence of FFXV in TGS.

Do you guys expect Sony to step in and actually announce JRPG ports like Persona 5 or Tales of Zestiria to the PS4 to help push the console in Japan?

My guess is no because cross-gen games aren't going to compel Japanese gamers to buy the PS4. Most are going to be content with playing P5 and ToZ on PS3. They need to announce some true next-gen titles that're only on the PS4.

My Predictions:
1. Ni no Kuni 2
2. Valkyria Chronicles 4
3. Idolmaster PS4
4. New gameplay videos of KH3/FFXV + release window for one of those
5. Dragon Quest XI PS4 exclusive

I think seeing a new Gravity Rush is a very safe bet. I do think the series is being reimagined for PS4, which I'm not even mad about. It is a franchise that has the complete package and deserves wider exposure. Exposure it just won't get on the Vita, especially in the West. Plus it works out really well because the PS4 needs software in Japan.

Man I cannot wait. Seriously all I need from TGS, well that and P5 deets.

If the stars align and Persona 5 is made cross-gen PS3/PS4 I will be the happiest person on earth!

Definitely wanna see Cyber Connect's new project and whatever SCEJ is working on too.

Seriously it would be a major oversight to have P5 only come to PS3. By the time it releases in the West it will likely be late 2015, and sales on PS3 have really dried up post PS4 in those areas.

Ninendo doesn't do TGS. Also why people want Persona 4 to be cross gen so much? It's not like the game will benefit from it, would rather have more content for PS3.
But Persona 4 is already on PS3, via PSN.
*sarcasm* I know what you mean.

Presumably, Atlus wouldn't be the ones mainly handling a PS4 port for P5. I don't think a PS4 port has any chance of happening whatsoever unless Sony steps in. It had been translated from a Dengeki interview that P Studio considered it, but did not have enough development resources for a PS4 version.

I want the game to be as successful as possible, so a PS4 port would be particularly great for North America's reception to the game.

This is my point. I mean I have a ps3 so I will play it no matter, I am also not the norm. I feel most have completely moved on from the PS3 and can't be bothered to go back and play it two years later. Especially outside of Japan.

I could definitely see Sony stepping in and offering assistance in bringing it to PS4. They really need games on PS4 in Japan and Atlus would benefit as well.

Bloodborne
MGSV
FFXV
Persona 4 Golden PS4
Persona 5
The Last Guardian
Deep Down
Gravity Rush 2
RE Revelations 2
Sillent Hills
Street Fighter IV for PS4
SCEJ New IP PS4

I want this to happen, but the skeptic in me says Sony is just going to miss this obvious chance.
I'm just going to keep my expectations on a PS3 version for now. Hopefully, I'll be surprised later.

Gravity Daze 2, Vita. It may end up on the ps4 too. But I expect it to definitely be a vita announcement. Possibly, the only Vita announcement.

;__; Deep down, I know what will happen. Vita will be left standing outside in the rain. Heartbroken, as it watches Kat walk away hand in hand with it's big brother, the PS4. ;__;

Persona 5 definitely happening though. PS4.
WiiU may have a surprise that will make GAF go crazy.

Persona 5 info, maybe JP release date.

That's all I'm looking forward to, I have zero expectations and I know P5 will come to Europe in 2018, like they did with SMTIV.

Thanks Atlus. At least it's better than Yakuza.

Sony main title - Bloodborne
Gravity Daze Vita
Big Sony Japan PS4 trailer.
No TLG.
Lot of Deep Down footages.

Square doing MS 3rd party deal again. Maybe Capcom too.

Square Japan another big game that coming before FFXV and KH3.

Persona 5 stays on PS3 in completely late to the party Atlus style.
Persona 5 delayed till 2015 in Japan.

NO KH3 or FFXV news.
BONUS: Shinji Hashimoto has an interview with Famitsu explaining that development is going well for both titles, but it is not the time to share more information.

Persona 5 is most likely if not certainly 2015. Its been noted as Winter 2014 which ends in Feb 2015 (UK).
