Anyone remember the anti drug movie that had all the cartoon characters of the 80s trying to help this one boy? You had the Michaelangelo, Smurfs and all the other popular characters trying to teach us that drugs are bad. Its free at most video stores too. Anyone remember the name of it? :lol

"You've got Alf talking about heroin, you've got Miss Piggy talking about cocaine. It's really, really strange to watch. We're talking strange on the same level as watching Mrs. Cleaver give Wally a rimjob. Sorry, I'm not usually this crass. It's just that hearing Papa Smurf yell 'LAY OFF THE DOPE, MICHAEL" tends to shake one's foundations of reality. I'm sure it'll pass."

Oh man, someone please buy this for me! Or find a torrent!

The best 'public message' cartoons were the little short ones after GI Joe. And to top it off, those online edits are so fucking hilarious.

"PORK CHOP SANDWICHES!"

I rented this when I was 8 because i though it would be something cool...then it turned out to be a PSA :(

I usually rent it once a year to make sure that I don't do drugs.

And, by the by, isn't Michael seriously tripping balls for smoking weed just once?

I've seen it pretty recently. Anime Weekend Atlanta has shown it at Hell the past few years.

Hearing the Muppet Babies talking about drugs is pretty funny.

I saw this about a year ago -- it's so hilariously incoherent that one wonders whether the writers were on drugs themselves. I'd advise checking nearby public libraries for it... that's where I found it.

I've got a copy of CASTTR and can attest to it's unintentional hillarity. Nothing quite like the way Alvin (of the Chipmunks) pronounces "marijuana". I occasionally run a variation of Anime Hell, and the edited highlights from Cartoon All-Stars is always good for Big Laffs(tm), particularly any time that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are on screen.

ProTip: The end theme to CASTTR can be used to strip paint.

Can't you upload it somewhere, FnordChan? =P

I have checked the local library for copies and turned up nothing. Copies are like $30 on eBay, which IMO is a bit pricey for this sort of novelty. Maybe we should all chip in and I'll make a Divx torrent :D

I have a copy of this on VHS. What hardware do I need to get it onto my computer? I have a few other things I want to transfer too.

Sadly, I think this is one of those things where if you have to ask what you need, you don't have what you need ;)

You want something to plug the composite cable from your VCR into so that you can watch the video on your computer. This can be either a PCI TV capture card or an external USB device. Next you would need a video capture program....which most likely would have been bundled with your TV capture device. If you are serious about getting some analog stuff on your hard drive, I would suggest buying something from ATI or the Hauppauge Win-TV PVR-350 (just make sure it accepts a composite/RCA input a.k.a. the yellow/red/white plugs)

Thought no one was going to bring this up. Maybe he mixed weed with like .. killer bee honey or something.

It says "Composite Input" so I would assume that it would.....but I can't really see where the red/white audio cables would plug in. I would warn that if you buy a cheap capture device then you are going to get....well, a cheap capture device ;)

If you really wanna be a cheapskate just buy a name-brand external device from Best Buy/CompUSA, use it to capture the video, then return the thing. If you like the experience, return it and find it cheaper on the web ;)

"Michael you're hurting me!" :lol

I swear everyone of these specials has at least one scene like that, I remember we watched this in class back when I was in 7th grade. It was comedy gold for everyone, until our teacher demeaned us all by forcing us to do a Q&A assignment on it.

OMG... I remember this from Elementary School... I totally forgot about it until now. :lol

Wasn't the writer for Alf a heroin addict?
If you mean Jerry Stahl, portrayed by Ben Stiller in Permanent Midnight, yes he was, but he was just a writer, not the writer as in the creator of it.
