If someone were going to compile a list like this, I would hope they limit the pool to exclusives and games that were timed exclusive only. Including games that launched on multiple platforms at the same time just muddies the waters too much. Those should be a separate list.
 
Not a bad top 10 at least. BG3 being there's a bit odd.

Without FF7, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and Gran Turismo, Sony probably aren't the console powerhouse that they are today. Those 4 games basically turned millions of people over from Nintendo and Sega back in the mid/late 90s.

What a shocking list with generic recency bias multi-plat games with no Sony identity near the top.

SOTN should be Top 5. FF9 is the true PS1 Swan Song and it's in the 50s? No Kingdom Hearts which was pretty much synonymous with the PS2 also?

Gran Turismo 4.
Astrobot.
Bloodborne.
God of War (2005).
Jak & Daxter.
Wipeout 2097.

Obviously if platform exclusives for the time were allowed I would include Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy VII and SotN. aswell.

Good list. MGs1 is a seminal game that kickstarted the whole cinematic genre we associate with PS first party. It's also a legendary game as a stealth game, an action game, with some of the most advanced mechanics of its time.

GOW 2018 is a bit too high, but thats ok. It's top 10 anyway. Id put Sotc and replace MGS1 with MGS3.

If they switched out GOW 2018 for GOW 3, and got rid of Shadow of Colossus (that lovely game that ran at about 20 fps on PS2) the list wouldnt be bad.

I remember buying SoC on pure hype and reviews, put in, played it for 10 minutes and rebooted the game thinking the frame rate was so bad maybe there was something wrong with my PS2. Nope. There were skewed reviews because I remember reading many and they didnt even bring up the shit frame rate at all.

I don't personally agree with 99% of the list, but hey, opinions.
It's not even a bad list, IMO. Just rather generic, and putting SOTN there would have made it even more generic.

50 key games pretty much sums up 80% of the platform experience, nowadays we'd be lucky to have more than 20.

How is Gran Turismo not there? Take your pick which GT game should make the list, but to me GT3 on PS2 was epic.
 
At least 4 of those are in my personal top ten list. But I have to cast shade at GTA V and RDR2, neither entry is deserving.

The others I'll allow. But the list is messy all the way down.
 
Decent list but I wouldnt have Baldurs Gate GTA5 and RDR2 in there.
And a list without RE, Tekken, GTA 3-SA, Gran Turismo. You can replace it with those games

And of all Playstation games since PS1 to PS5 never that God of War 2018 would come close to second place.
 
I've seen worse lists. I feel like Symphony of the Night belongs somewhere on there even though it wasn't the biggest hit when it first released.
