Okay, OT Gaffers, it's the moment you've all been waiting for - The 2005 GAMING-AGE "YES THERE IS STILL TIME FOR A SPRING MIX" MIX EXCHANGE. That's right, it's a chance to (show off to/torture) your fellow forum users with your music tastes and the ability to create one sweet mix.
During the summer and fall exchanges we've adopted digital downloads of the mixes, with plenty loving it. Instead of using my space, I figured we could just use yousendit and other sources for file distribution. Makes it a lot easier for me. You can feel free to do it the old fashion way if you wish, and I'll make every effort to make sure those who are found of actually sending and receiving burns will get to do just that.
Here's what you need to do to get involved:
1. Post in the thread - Let everyone know you're gonna be involved!
2. Send me a PM with the following: Preference (digital/classic), musical tastes, and five of your favorite CDs this year. - I'll try to match people up into groups that have similar tastes, but not enough where their mixes will include all of the same songs.
3. Check to see your name in the top post as part of the mix exchange - If it takes more than a day, send me a PM or post in the thread.
4. Wait for dates - I figure that by next Friday we should have all the groups together, with mixes due at the latest by the end of May. That way it's out of the way before the New Year. If you have problems with the timetable, please don't hesitate to let us know. We understand.
5. Listen, Review - Crucial steps that tend to get overlooked. Each poster works hard on their mix (I think), and some input for the time they spent on it seems fair. Even if it's just 100 words or a song or two you want to write about, acknowledge the time spent on the mix by its creator.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Edit: List of those involved in the mix.
