I actually agree with SalsaShark. Even though the Rocky series, and Stallone himself, get a lot of laughs from people, it's important to cinema in regards to that each movie in the franchise is in one way reflective of a period in Stallone's life.

We're basically watching a man's life over the course of several decades in movie-form, and there really aren't any other movies that do that. He's a wonderful actor, writer, and director, and he definitely deserves way more respect for his films.
