Evilore had a thread about the ads sometime ago. I don't mind them if it's absolutely necessary to keep the forums alive. Though expected the ads to be a bit slim in size.

no shit. only 8 people have signed up so that's only $24/month if everyone is on the lowest tier. i doubt all 8 people are on the $100/month tier lol. the different tiers don't offer any benefits so there's no difference between $3 or $100. the site is lucky if it's making $100/month all together.

Gold is likely making the site way more money. not sure what ads bring in.

But seriously, you may need to spice up your life if you're getting ads for Office Depot and Floor & Decor. I at least get Tim Pool ads, which is a lot more exciting.

Sometimes they don't appear, maybe it's a regional thing. I don't see on my phone any ads either, but on PC I do.
