You are right, and I'm probably in a very small minority. I just think some of the "magic" of building something so substantial by oneself might be lost by rushing through it.
Can't wait to watch today's episode, looks like fun.
They are putting together a LEGO kit, not "building something substantial." It's a fun activity, not an impressive feat to be proud of.
The MAME cabinet? That will be impressive!

This has been a lot of fun to follow thus far. I'm really tempted to go and dig up some of my old Lego sets, I fear that they all will have pieces missing though :/.

Nothing, obviously wearing those 3D glasses for so long is making you see things.
It is something substantial in the Lego world though, they have a ton of pieces! I know if I was building the SSD I'd put it up for display somewhere at work or in my home

Must wear an oven mitt on the dominant hand. Oven mitts on BOTH hands if ambidextrous.
Must wear an eyepatch when building complex layers. Fuck your depth perception.
Have a 100 piece challenge (who can correctly assemble 100 pieces within 30 minutes) and the loser must allow Chloe Bananas to walk around on their table, unrestricted, for 1 minute.

1. I went to the LEGO Store (Glendale Galleria) today. What an awesome place! Possibly even cooler than the Apple Store (which is next door, interestingly enough).
2. They had the Death Star playset on display. It looks so much better in person. It's gone pretty much straight to the top of my wish list.

Better buy sooner rather than alter. Those giant Star Wars sets just rocket up in price once they're out of print.
They did do 5 episodes, they just didn't put a number on the free-to-everyone first episode where they just announced how they were going to do it and sorted the pieces.

Big LEGO party today! I built Fallingwater, Leah did The Black Pearl, Will made a Y-Wing and Norm, Evan and Wes collaborated on the epic Imperial Shuttle.
