The way he fights his way through hordes of Pharisees is straight up legit. Plus John makes it sound like he's gonna throw down with Satan in a big way in the End, so here's hoping.
Detective Tyrell Badd of Ace Attorney fame. See the bullet holes in his coat, and in his tie? Half of those are all from the same DAY. The man is so awesome that even the series villains don't like to be too close to him. In a world of incredibly incompetent police officers, Detective Badd is probably the only man who is consistently good at his job. He's even monochrome to make it look less like he came from a colorful place and more from like, Sin City.
Prosecutor Godot, also from Ace Attorney. The first (and aside from Detective Badd, only) character who has a whip aimed at him and avoids it. The guy talks down to everyone, and doesn't actually shoot lasers from his eyes. He does set up an elaborate scheme for revenge, though.
Jean Grey eats stars for snacks. She has psychic showdowns with Professor X that make him cry. Girl left Emma Frost a crying sack on the floor and shattered Mastermind's brain into a million pieces. And all of this before she went hilariously overpowered to the level of rewriting history and making Galactus crap his pants. When the Phoenix gets hurt, it comes crying to HER. Woman flew into a sun and came out just dandy. Get her in a bad mood and your entire galaxy will likely regret it.
This is Master Asia of G Gundam. He is playing his hair as a flute. He fights with a sash. He fights so well with a sash he can defeat the many, many giant robots in his series without getting into his own. He goes undefeated for the entire series,
and when he loses, it is only because he was holding back and not using his Really Powerful Mech
Obi-Wan Kenobi is the best hero character in both Star Wars trilogies.
King Theoden is amazing. Have you heard his speech? No? Listen. Dude is the most awesome human being in the entire Lord of the Rings. He's going to charge into a horde of orcs and GIANT elephant tanks, and he don't give no cares. Hail Theoden King.

Teddy Roosevelt is so amazing that we make bear-shaped offerings and place them with our children to appease him, lest he rise from the grave and show us again what a man wearing a monocle can do. They also ward off evil spirits.
