Speaking of which, I actually just remembered I hung onto / archived a bunch of assets from this dumb Pokemon fan thing that never went anywhere that I made when I was younger

just like literally every other fanmade and official game

, but I tried doing it in a spiritual successor sort of way rather than trying to directly "remake" those old types of concepts. Like, ghosts posessing inanimate objects, artificial pokemon with ambiguous origins, most common ones are based on wild animals rather than folklore / mythology which is reserved for stronger pokemon or legendaries, designs and backstory allude to pokemon hunting other pokemon, etc. I won't spam the whole thing in here, but I uploaded most of the salvageable stuff to Imgur for people to look through. There are a mix of animated sprites in color, Black and White-esque rough drafts with lengthy animation cycles, concept art, badge designs, etc. It was also set in an ersatz Australia (spoiler: you got to visit a second region based on New Zealand after beating the Elite Four!), so there was already a precedent for the wildlife trying to kill you.
