I was the same way. I waited to watch s1 on netflix. The show knows it's crazy and kinda runs with it, atleast in s1. I enjoyed it

They must have really turned that show around then, because it was garbage.
Most of season one is real bad, then season two is great. A lot of it is them leveraging the fact that with 70 years of content to adapt however they please they can get real weird without breaking tue logic of the world.

It's more like Batman Begins, he won't like try to save people, but usually isn't actively going after anyone.
