The Black Culture Thread |OT16| - I'm blacker than you'll ever be

Whelp, I let it go for too long and my wife found out about my toe nail, which is impacted; now ingrowing... I happen to have this problem of not wearing steel toe boots even when I go to my shop for just a couple minutes, stubborn rook mistake. Im also getting too old to not immediately have my injuries addressed...

Saturday I was doing some engine tuning and dropped my ball-peen dead center on my big toe. I already have common problems with my feet/nails due to sports; see kick boxing. Its what goes down that just rekts my life for a moment, and I've seen some shit. Last time this happened she performed the surgery and it was traumatic, there are just some things one should not have to see when they're getting surgery and that's an entire toenail be pulled off along with its skin. I want to be put to sleep though.

The thing for men, especially Black men, is we don't go to the doctor as much as we should. I think we feel it is some sort of weakness in going to someone to get help. The older we get, the more important it is to go to a doctor to see what the problem is. Many illness or conditions can be taken care of or completely eliminated if caught early. But I am guilty of it myself. Lord knows I need to go get a check up and a complete physical.

Console-warring is always annoying, and I'll freely admit that Nintendo fans can be some of the worst.
This is true. I don't know...I was expecting a single piece of hardware that has Nintendo's undivided support on it with some indies and mid-budget games thrown in between and that's what I'm getting. I never once expected to have a full powered console in my pocket. I already have a PS4 and PC so I guess it doesn't bother me as much.

Am I weird for not being phased by this info? Anyone expecting PS4 or Xbox One power in a handheld were due for a rude awakening.
I'm in the same boat. The switch is basically a handheld system, to expect that to have as much power as xbox or ps4 is/was naive regardless of what oils Nintendo said they'd be selling.

Not at all. The handheld aspect of the switch really should have given it away immediately. People never temper their expectations over on gaming side though.

They didn't live up to the power up. Based off current info, won't be able to support current gen third parties as easily as had been claimed

The whole thread seems like a lot of crying over nothing. Everyone already knew this thing wasn't matching an Xbox One in a portable device unless it was $499+. Nintendo fans should just be happy Nintendo is focusing all of their efforts onto one machine. Throw in the fact that it's a Nintendo portable and you finally have a Nintendo machine you can play on your TV with no software droughts.

Can't blame people for thinking that the system would be able to run the games that it was advertised as being able to run. Unless we're admitting that Nintendo are masters at selling that snake oil and it should be expected from them. There's only one source for these expectations.
What is funny is that I expected Nintendo to avoid going down the path of split specs like the other two consoles. Developers having to tackle creating for the lower end specs to keep their games running well on the go and all that. All in one system without any hardware revision. That's impressive.

Ya, I thought this was about the console when its docked, not when its portable.

If it's anywhere near the WiiU in terms of performance when in portable mode then that would be amazing. Especially if you consider how behind Nintendo has been for portable hardware power. Even if it's slightly above the Vita in portable mode, it would still be more than serviceable.

I still have hope for Assassin's Creed. Even if this movie isn't particularly good, if it does well enough maybe something can be salvaged for a sequel.

Nintendo making a handheld that can easily be paired to a TV is probably the smartest thing they could've done with a WiiU/3DS successor.

Do any of you all take care of your skin? My girl just bought us something from Drunken Elephant and I feel like I'm about to buy most of my stuff from them now. My face feels light.

I have to, mostly to keep the color in my tattoos, plus If I don't keep up eczema sets in. I'm about as vigilant when it comes to skin care as my wife. I'm always open to more natural recommendations but I do majority of my shopping here. http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandsalve.com/products/mens-skin-care

You fucked up thinking anything AC related might have a good story. Freedom Cry and Liberation was the exception. Esco be praised
I didn't have any expectations for it, honestly. If it were Warcraft-tier hacked-to-pieces-in-the-studio-but-enjoyable-for-fans I probably would have watched it.

Nah man Black Flag, 2, Rouge, and Relevations all have pretty well done stories.
Relevations especially does some really smart stuff near the end of the story, and hell the abstract puzzle game with Desmond has some shit going for it.

I figured at best it was going to be a "chilling at the house, don't feel like putting clothes on and doing shit so i will watch this movie on tbs" type of movie

Nintendo fans, like many fandoms, are blinded by loyalty and bias.

Yeah this is true. Not sure why they just rub me the worst, when I can sit back and just shake my head at everyone else's bullshit.

Oh lord I didn't even see that! Thanks for the heads up, i'll steer clear.

EDIT: JUST PEEPED

YAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!

I mean, is Fassbender really this star of an actor? I enjoyed some movies hes played in but... Tom Hardy would bring me to watch a movie just to watch it before I cared about what it was about, if anyone.

The Orcs are done pretty well. You just have to remember that the Warcraft lore has been retconned to hell and back, chopped up and Frankensteined back together, and then got chopped up again in the transition to the big screen.

Blizzard had it all held together with duct tape for the first ~19 years of the franchise until they did one big lore book to update the lore and bring it all together this year.

The problem with video games is the story is written to fit the game, and not the other way around. And the writers are not always the best.
