Last ep felt like Mac and Yoyo were having a "These folks are tripping" conversations during the whole thing

They were, it was the closest a conversation got to saying "These white people crazy" without saying these white people crazy on broadcast TV

I think I like them more than Fitz and Simmons lol
Mostly cuz of Yoyo

The inevitable death of Fitz is something I am not ready for

How do you guys feel about Marc Lamont Hill calling Steve Harvey and other black celebs meeting with him as 'mediocre negroes'

link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZEM32BL7CU

It's funny that this has been getting play tonight on other News channels and honestly it's funny to see white people lowkey happy they get to say mediocre negroes on national television. But, quite frankly, they don't have the range to comment on this.

The same Marc Lamont Hill that supported Jill Stein and the Green Party? And he's talking about 'mediocre negroes'? Fuck him.

I mean, I guess I wouldn't such language (on TV anyways), but like, these black celebs meeting with Trump are just playing themselves thinking they can do some real good with Trump of all people, no doubt about it.

It's funny these people go to a con man and act as if the mess he peddling is the gospel. Ray Lewis has always been a Rocket though...

Green party don't give a fuck about the people. Jill's running mate wasn't getting my support either.

Edit: If people want to support the Green party then by all means have at it.

Yeah, I'm on the let people make bad decisions train. Let em do it, same thing with a Black Libertarian. #MakeBadDecisions2K17

If you're going to make that argument for the Green Party then I don't see how that doesn't apply to all established political parties.

Disclosure: I am unaffiliated.

You very much can have that argument, but for some parties it is more out there that they don't care about the people

Also, Jill Stein had less of a plan than Bernie did if she were to get into office. She had nothing whatsoever that she could do if she became President. She had a buncha ideas and no plans

I can acknowledge that, but again, if we're discrediting Marc Lamont Hill for his support of the Green Party (and I would claim that he supported them in principle rather than as a credible candidate), what's that to say of black people who support establishment politics within the democratic party?

idk, it seems very petty to me because people (in general not even specific to this thread) dislike that he wasn't towing the line with Clinton or Sanders.

At this point with how the system goes, there is a reason more Black people support the Democratic Party and the policies there instead of the party with a lot of people who don't care about us. Not to say the Dems don't have the same issue, but it is not as prevalent. As a self-preservation thing it makes more sense to align with the Democrats than anyone else at this time. If there was a party that focused on black issues and reform that would benefit black people and other minorities, then people would flock there. People flock to the people who will either help them, or screw them over the least.

Exactly Democrats are the best option in a terrible situation. Do you choice the option that will kill you or the one that gives you a 50% chance?

Mmm, I can definitely respect the pragmatism, I'll just have to disagree and leave it at that. I do feel like in a world where establishment politics is the path of least resistance, the Democrat party is the answer. One day maybe we can all be a bit more radical in how we approach and advocate for our identities, but I understand not everyone is there yet.

You said the word radical and that got me thinkin, everyone I know is terrified I'm going to be a militant black man who hates white people. Now I definitely would've been a Black Panther back in the day, but hate whitey? Nah

I wouldn't say I hate every white person but I hate Whiteness. The Panthers were revolutionary in their ability to bridge coalitions with other marginalized groups (Asians, poor whites, etc), so revolutionary it got them systematically killed and imprisoned in almost record time.

I prefer to leave that coalition building to other folk, because I'd much just rather focus on black people and black issues right now. In regards to my own personal work.

The Panthers were going to save non-wealthy white people too.
