Jumped on my organized crime fandom again. Since the Godfather, Eastern Promises, The Wire, I've always been a fan of organized crime fiction. Gomorra is the latest one, a fully Italian-made TV series about a modern crime family in Italy. I was really good. Beautifully shot, well acted, complex reprehensible characters, and a good story with a lot of turns.
The one thing. The one goddamn thing I hate about crime fiction that seems especially present in Mafia fiction is the fucking anti-black racism. In this show, in particular, it was overt, intense and only served one episode. The black characters are introduced in the beginning of the episode, the boss and his soldiers call blacks "animals"; talk about how they "belong in the zoo and not with civilized humans like themselves", and in the end innocent black citizens are fucking slaughtered as revenge for the blacks of course "getting uppity/past their station".
And that's one episode and black characters never show up again. Hell, the episode is pointless and could have gotten to the change that happens at episodes end without black people involved at all. It was so fucked up and I'd be even more soured on the show as a whole if I didn't already know how this is an unfortunate trend in organized crime fiction.

Yeah there numbers have been dropping yearly as far as I know. In January they opened up to allow transgender kids in the organization, so they've definitely been trying to catch up with the times to an extent. I'm not affiliated with the Scouts in anyway so I really don't know how any of this has played out.

We really don't want to get make it into that kind of thing. There are shitty people representing both DC and Marvel.

that's just enough people to have 5 on Team Law and 5 on Team Breakers
I couldn't get through the first issue. Everything about it was bland and all the characters were uninteresting.
