The Critical Drinker Review: Wonder Woman 1984 - A Ridiculous Disaster

Seems like nothing that wasn't expected. But as always I watch the review for the laughs. And I guess I'm so easily amused because I chuckle every time I hear
The Dildo Stone!
But yeah, the current quality of films to me just leaves so little to desire. Nothing at all compelling or remotely interesting whatsoever, with an absolute dearth of anything at all that seems creative.

I wouldn't mind if the virus had decimated Hollywood, but sadly they'll keep getting bailouts from the bribed CA state, plus stay afloat due to just peddling out any kind of shite as long as China pays for it.

Some scenes almost felt parody.

The fireworks were cool in HDR, but, I've seen just as good if not better with real ones on YouTube, especially in 60fps min.

After finishing the review, and the way he said even the film ended with the feeling of "it's as if nothing even happened"

Is it just me, or does that really sum up a lot of the films lately? But in this case, it seems that even this film kinda fudges with established lore within the "multiverse" of Diana and what she was doing in between the first film and the Justice League stuff.

Yeah it was bad.

The style is so weird. It has this mix of cheese, over the top elements and bad visual effects that reminds me of old Robert Rodriguez movies. And it just doesn't fit.

Im convinced the last 10 min where dudes standing in the light was shot that way specifically to show off HDR. There was zero reason for him to be standing there.

From some of the scenes, it does seem like they were trying to go for an old-school more "campy" theme.

But the thing for me is, camp in the past worked due to being on low-budgets and such. Trying to do camp with all these VFX and green-screens just usually doesn't hit the mark for me. It just looks even more fake.
