The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

Just trying to mentally put together the 2 different shots

Teaser has a guy hand climbing UP the bricked up hole. Prologue reel has multiple people roping down. Any of those people would juse the rope to climb back up, and would likely leave at the same time.

But then the solitary figure climbing up the well, is intersepted with Gordon talking about "now this evil rises" which makes you think the figure is Bane. But it's hard to tell. Only thing that you can notice, is he's not using a rope to climb the wall.

Safe to assume the ending part of the teaser, the infamous "guy in the background behind Batman", could be one of the repeller's, surrounding the fight between Bane and Batman in the Cave. Which I think some theorized

The last few spoiler tags aren't 100% spoilers. Mostly theorizing between shots from the prologue and the teaser trailer released earlier. But covered up since it's plot theorizing.

Despite my claims as to otherwise, I said "screw it," and high-tailed it to Birmingham earlier. I remembered a friend was staying there for college, so I called him up and we went.

First things first: The Birmingham IMAX is a Dome-IMAX, so it was NOT ideal. You had to look all around to see the full scene. The parts where
the team repels down to the smaller plane and hooked it up were especially disorienting.
But I'm pretty sure a true widescreen IMAX would look amazing.

The prologue itself was pretty freakin' amazing. If all that was done with practical effects, Nolan is insane. Bane's voice was kind of tough to understand at parts. Especially
at the beginning where he has a sack over his head.
I got "
Why would you shoot someone before you throw them out of a plane?
" but the other stuff was muffled. The voice itself sounds cool, though.

I got a sort of "Bond" feel from the prologue. I don't really know what it was, but something reminded me of Casino Royale.

As for the sizzle reel, it was pretty damn cool, except
Catwoman. She just did not fit in at all. I hope they do something to 'downplay' the mask. It just doesn't seem like it belongs in the Nolan-verse.
The scene where
the two crowds run at each other
looks crazy. Can't wait. I should be seeing Sherlock Holmes on Thursday night, too. So I'll get the full TDKR treatment.

I imagine there will be quite a few pirate versions online, because my theater was pretty lax. They told us to turn off our phones, anyone caught recording will be escorted out, and they could be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law (He actually said "to the forest-..." before correcting himself) He ended his speech by saying "So... Don't get caught." I wouldn't be shocked if someone recorded the one I was at.

Also, if anyone else from GAF was at Birmingham, I was the guy in the plaid shirt with the long-haired guy with the goatee. We were sitting on the right side of the screen, like 65% of the way up. You may have overheard us talking about comics, The Miracle of Birth on IMAX, and so on. So... I don't maybe you saw me.

It better be Batman.

The Birmingham, AL one? Didn't think you were from around here.

Ended up not going, long day of work and just wanted to relax.

I think I saw you but I wasn't paying much attention. Me and a friend were sitting on the very top row on the right end.

Holy shit so awesome! Now the wait is going to be killer.

Agree with everyone saying Bane's voice was difficult to understand. I think it's a combination of the modulation from the mask and accent that makes it so odd. Love it but it definitely needs work.

Can't wait till this Summer!

Clips at the end has me the most pumped. Can't wait for the trailer. There were for sure a couple lines of Bane's I couldn't even guess a signle word of. For the most part it was fine though. He looks fucking psycho. Come on July.

I don't know if all the leaks are like this, but the one above is really not doing justice to the scene. The entire bottom half of the shot is out, so you're missing the impressive part, where
a cargo plane carries a passenger jet Just Cause 2 style, as the jet tilts down and begins to break apart. The tail fins pop off soon, and then after that the wings begin to wobble and rip off.
And it all looks pretty real.

Also, I got all of the dialogue now except one part. Can someone help me out?

"???????"
"
We've started the fire.
"
"
The fire rises.
"

What's that first part?

I'm in total awe of that stuntwork. Just really, really impressive. And holy shit, that music.

Avoid the bootlegs, see it in IMAX!

Love to, they don't want me to though, or they'd put it in every imax instead of an average of one per state.

Isn't MI4 turning out to be a hell of a flick too? Judging by early reviews..

One negative review so far. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mission_impossible_ghost_protocol/ Sounds like it is going to be good.

Two things:

I'm confused, did Bane
outright kill the CIA guy, or was he still alive when the plane dropped?

Also, creepy? The look on the dude's face when Bane said "the fire rises". Utter, fanatical devotion, right?

Guys guys, by the way, I am impressed that nobody almost noticed nor has mentioned that for the first time, batman fights in a broad daylight for once in the scene people thought would be edited into a night.

Wait, so the prologue is showing before MI4 on Friday? Will it be showing with EVERY screening of MI4? Or just certain select ones?

I saw the prologue tonight in Tampa at our dome IMAX at a museum, but I really want to watch it again

You know what I'm just thrilled about? Pretty much every leaked shot that I didn't want to see, but accidentally stumbled upon is in the sizzle reel. So, I'm still pretty clean.

Well, Bane convinced him to kill himself
for the sake of the crash being more convincing
. I'd say that's some devotion.

Not really. The voice doesn't match at all. I expected his voice to be deep and guttural, but it sounds like a British dude talking through a vocoder instead.

The voice is fine. It's just the way he pronounces words which is all fucked up. Sounds like a dude with a twirly moustache and top hat/monocle.

Really doesn't fit the character AT ALL. But the voice itself is great. Kind of like Jeremy Irons meets Darth Vader. Seems pretty cool but I don't think he'll top the Joker.

When all is said and done by the end of the trilogy my ranking will probably be: Joker > Bane > Ra's = Scarecrow

Me and my buddy after leaving the screening kept doing the twirly mustache and top hat guy voice. That was our first thought of his voice. Batman vs Bane who has the stranger voice we lose.

Question, for people who saw the prologue in IMAX theatres, was Bane hard to comprehend ? I can barely make out what he says in the leaked clips.

Would be frustrating if he have back and forth in Bale voice and this.

Hopefully Batman just stfu in the movie and lets Wayne do the talking. His pep-talk at the end of TDK with the Joker was beyond corny. Or at least no monologues or anything.

That's his voice. All we can do is dealwithit.

I understand it fine but I'm kind of miffed by the pretentious-tone he's got. The sound of the voice itself is what I wanted tho. So I'm 50/50 on it.
