Something unexciting about this. Still think Catwoman was miscast and Bane just doesn't seem interesting after what they accomplished with Joker. It will be great anyways but the trailer didn't build excitement for me.

Yeah I agree, I'm still wondering what this character will reveal to us about the human condition. Catwoman and a potential robin hood complex is actually an interesting idea. I kind of wish Bane was bigger or more intimidating.

The shot after Catwoman's "leave so little for the rest of us..." line, Bruce Wayne has this look of, "Do something, Bruce, she's walking away. Shit, she's gone. I knew I should've tapped dat ass."

Weird shot to use after that line.
 
I know it was only one line, but seriously you guys, Hathaway delivered the shit out of it. My pro-Hathaway stance will be vindicated, this summer, only in theatres.
 
That line was some hokey Nolan-shit. It happens quite a bit in TDK too (IMO), where it probably reads so good but when actually spoken it doesn't feel right.
 
This movie is going to be about class warfare and the lower, middle, and criminals "Rising." I have a feeling this could work really well.
 
This speculation from some people of him taking over as commissioner makes no sense either considering his age.

I think he'll just be a supporting role to Gordon.
 
I don't think JGL will be Robin since that would be corny and not fit with the Nolan universe, but I do think he will be a Robin type character, an assistant to Batman who originally started out as an assistant to the police chief.
 
JGL plays a young circus performer who's parents are murdered in front of his eyes by a mobster, this drives him to turn into Riddler.

Yeah I doubt he's going to be anything serious. He does look much older than he did in Inception, but he seems like more of a grizzled cop, than he does a rookie or a future commissioner.

The only role I can see JGL play is as a
Batman successor.

How I see JGL in this:
Firstly, a physical presence to take over for Gordon (cause somethings gonna happen to him, per the teaser trailer)
Most likely, some form of resistance leader/soldier, cause that too looks likely to happen (large brawls between cops and thugs/army)




While looking through cast lists on TDK and BB, come to find out, the actor that played the DA in BB (the one who was killed by the League of Shadows/Bad Cops) died this year from Cancer. Just one of those things that would never have been found out, as he wasn't that known. Name was Larry Holden.

I don't think it will be as cheesey, but I do believe that
Batman will be too injured to continue and JGL will be his succesor. Blake will probably be told by Gordon when Gordon is in his hospital bed. JGL will be inspired by Batman's actions and try to become the next vigilante. I don't think it will be a Robin or a Nightwing, just another vigilante.
 
From reusing Ra's speech in Begins for the teaser, and now the new tagline being "The Legend Ends", I can't wait for them to finally get back to the whole idea of Batman being a symbol.

"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can't do that as Bruce Wayne, as a man I'm flesh and blood I can be ignored I can be destroyed but as a symbol, as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting. "

That's part of the ending for TDK, too, that Dent was worth more as a symbol than as a man.
 
JGL's character is someone big. Many of his scenes were filmed with minimal cast and crew around to prevent leaks. And many of his lines at a certain point in the script had been blacked out of scripts while filming.
 
I think there are only two options regarding death in this series. The first is that Batman will die and Bruce Wayne will live on. The legend no longer needs to exist because the people of Gotham have found the strength to come together and be brave. This is the ending I prefer. The second is that Bruce Wayne dies but the legend of Batman lives on. At the end of the movie we see a new caped crusader in the shadows for just a moment before credits roll.

My bad, I meant the "but as a symbol, as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting" part, TDK deals with Batman being a symbol, but Batman fails to achieve what he wanted to do with the symbol. From what I've heard of TDKR, this does finally start to come through (you can see it with the "Legend" shirt with the spray painted batlogo).

I really hope Bruce doesn't die :(

I want to see Bruce be the one to put Bane down. Having him no longer need the Batman would be interesting and seeing 'Bruce the Philanthropist' would be a nice ending, but I'm not a fan of Bruce just dying and someone else taking his place (though I do understand the thematic/symbolic value of that).
