I. Am. Excited.

I love you Dent... *sniff.

I wasn't really feeling him at first. But it's already grown on me. Not in a "what a fuck awesome design" but in a simple, "yeah, that's how Bane looks, duh" kind of way. Hope seeing more Catwoman has the same effect since I'm not feeling her get up.

Yeah, it's the same. I'm sure they resized it to fit him for any weight he put on/lost, but story wise he's obviously not going to have a new costume since we've had about a billion pictures of him in this costume already.

Still hoping for an 11th hour suit change before some climactic battle.

Speculation time!

The first few days of shooting were
in India right? So if we follow what they did with TDK and the bank robbery, which was also shot first to get it ready to be attached to I Am Legend, then the India shoot has to be the introduction to Bane.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that I remember reports that the only known actor in India that was spotted was Bale, not Hardy

And for those who believe
that in the 8 years that have passed since the last movie, Batman only now comes back to battle Bane, I think the teaser already showed snippets of the training scene to get back into shape. They better use the Rocky music

What does everyone think of Bane being a mercenary and not a wrestler?

I never read a Bane-story (but I watched him in the animated series) and I have the feeling that the Bane from the comics would be difficult to place in this film.

I think changing him from Wrestler to Mercenary/Terrorist is pretty on point and topical. Tis a good move, atleast thus far.

Especially since Nolan is intent on grounding some of the characters into a more realistic connected plot that revolves around Batman fighting to clean up the city from the mob and its associates rather than a relentless unending war against crazy criminals.

Bale definitely looks much better in the Batman suit this time around.

Don't think he was ever an actual wrestler, he just had the mask.

Guy Pearce was told he'd be playing "skinny Bane" when he's off the venom.[/IMG]
Since the Batman series started, Guy Pearce has actually been busy acting in movies that are better than anything Nolan has ever done, like Animal Kingdom, The Hurt Locker and The Proposition, for instance, and he's now working for John Hillcoat for the third time. I don't think I need to specify that Hillcoat is a better director than Nolan, but I just did.

Guy Pearce doesn't need Batman.

Not sure where you are getting wrestler from.

I always thought that training scene was from Begins, but now that I look back at it I don't think it is. I can't figure out where the setting of it is either.

Wow way to take the joke seriously. The joke only started because Nolan usually repeats or re-casts his actors over and over. Except for Pearce. In fact he was originally supposed to be in BB but then Nolan decided to not cast him.

They did show some old footage in the build up of the teaser (the snow mountains scene where he trains with Ducard iN BB and the Bike speeding away from the last scene of TDK) but everything from that point on was new footage. I believe. I think.

I loved you in L.A Confidential!

Someone got MY joke! Excellent.

It was also serious, though. Nolan isn't good.

I will assume you meant to say "God" instead of good, and then we'll be in perfect agreement.

Hillcoat is definitely a great director, but being great isn't mutually exclusive.

Nolan's definitely got the "objective" structural fundamentals down (a prerequisite for any good director). That's probably open to debate, but I've yet to hear a good argument otherwise. Whether or not you're personally enthralled by the stories he tells is a matter of aesthetic taste and personal values.

Batman's outfit looks WAY better in warm lighting. Not sure what they were thinking with all the blues and cool lighting in TDK, but that suit was made for dirty palettes. Looks awesome in that last image.

I don't get Foreign Jackass' hate. Surely he's gotta be a troll.
Nah, my feelings are pretty genuine, even though I express them in inflammatory ways. The problem with me and Nolan is that his concepts are always exciting, and even his general story arcs are good but he always lets me down with his execution, mostly his editing and his storytelling shortcuts, and it makes me hate him even more than if he was just boring.

Part of me gets superficially excited by his concepts, and the intellectual response part of me, after seeing the movie, just wants to beat him up. I'm probably not alone in this.

Evidently, the huge blind ("to me") following he's got plays into this also.

Could you give an example?
