Unrelated to whats being talked about right now, but still wanted to say this. I really hope TDKR doesn't become more bloated than TDK. Maybe it's just because TDK'st third act is not as strong as the rest of the film, but i'm usually exhausted and kind of happy its over by the time the credits roll.

To me, Begins feels much more streamlined and never wears out its welcome. Now with Inception being 2,5 hours as well and rumours that TDKR could be close to 3 hours, I'm actually kind of worried.

It's the end of the Nolanverse. It'll be as long as it needs to be.
 
I love watching the butthurt-ness of fanboys getting all uppity about their loved medium.

Higher than thou attitude. That TED talk was cheesy. So fucking cheesy. I loved it.

Stop comparing films... just enjoy them. I don't and won't understand your allegiance.
 
I hadn't watched the TED thing yet, it ends with a very similar sound to Lost, cool video. Reminds me a lot more of Citizen Kane than it does Alien though.
 
Wasn't a huge fan of the TED talk. The substance of Weyland's speech didn't seem at all impressive enough to make the audience gasp the way they were gasping. I understand that the character is a bit over-the-top so I have no problem with his speech, but it was shot in a way that was emphasizing its importance, and that I thought took away from the whole point of it being a TED talk.

Yeah I get that. But it was far too cinematic for its own purpose. They should have gone with two static cameras to sell it better. One could make the argument that the large audience and cinematic style emphasizes just how important TED talks become to society in the future, but they could certainly have made that point without making it feel like a movie, if only for the sake of forming a proper viral video.

The TED talk is brilliant, but TDK and WB went to some pretty obscure and bizarre lengths. We're talking way back when they started littering Joker cards into random comic book shops a year before release, defacing currency at comic-con, releasing encrypted files, morse code scavanger hunts. They hadn't even told half the shops they left random items at that a mob of sweaty nerds would soon be invading their property.

This was all topped off when they handed out defaced copies of the theatrical trailer at private screenings.

TDKR has had what? Enter your email address to see bane which was hacked in 15 minutes? Pretty awful
 
The second trailer was pretty mediocre.
It's a thing where WB knows they have a hit on their hands, that they don't even need to release *full* trailers ( which explain what the synopsis is) for it, until like a month or two before the actual release.
I hoping this is going to be a great film as much as the first two were.
Prometheus is untouchable so far though. The marketing for that one has just been top notch. Nothing even comes close to it right now.
 
They know they have a hit, so why waste time and money on a ton of viral marketing? Most people already know about the movie, and the ads haven't even hit full power yet. It's not like anyone here who is talking about the lack of virals is going to not see it because there wasn't a scavenger hunt.

The TED is life altering shit and if you don't acknowledge that, you're living life in the dark and you need to wake up and realize the world around you is nothing like it was before.

I came up with an idea for Batman reboot, it will be more realistic than the Nolan series. It involves Bruce Wayne being a crazy dude obsessed with crime, he has clippings of news stories about people getting murdered plastered onto his bedroom wall. One day he loses it and puts on a bat suit in order to hide his identity, he will be entering into what he thinks is a suicide mission to terrorize the mob who he holds responsible for killing his parents. The major twist is that the leader of the mob and the man who killed his parents is actually a good guy with a crazy alter ego. That's right the villain is Arnold Wesker/Scarface!

Does he also drive a souped-up Lincoln and have a ring that looks vaguely like a bat that he punches people with?
 
Are they done editing the movie yet? I don't believe this rumour to be honest. What was the last Nolan movie that lasted over 2 hours?
 
CBM has an update on the story, saying that the run time is 2:16

UPDATE: CBM's own CPBuff22 came across an interesting find and did some digging as well. On the Celebration Cinema's The Dark Knight Rises page, and they list the movie as having a run time of 130 Minutes. Ah, but there is more:

"Well I called the Celebration! Cinema offices and they say that they have been informed of the 2:16 time(includes credits). Its fairly crucial info for them as they try to plan out an IMAX schedule being that there will be a couple movies playing in IMAX at the time and the need to optimize the use of the one screen." - CPBuff22

I'm hoping they've kept the casting of Patrick Duffy a secret, so we get our Christian bale and Duffy shower scene at the end.

True, and that was Insomnia. I'd say the average runtime of his movies are of 130 m.
