I wouldn't defend the badness of it though, I just liked it. I wish Scott would have had a better (or just good) script to go along with his world building. I can see why people would hate it, and I wouldn't say they are wrong.

It was beautifully shot, really good cast, some genuinely suspenseful moments. Better than anything in the Alien series with exception of Alien.

Just watch Alien again, but pretend all the characters are 10x dumber, insert some religious allegory, and a magical flute, and you've got Prometheus.
I don't think Alien holds up in a re-watch for me. I'd take more enjoyment out of Spiderman 3.

Got my tickets for opening weekend. A lovely afternoon screening at the BFI IMAX I've got a delightful view of the screen.
Best seats in the house I'll say and lots of legroom. Though looking at some of the other saner screening times i.e afternoon,early evening those seats are filling up very quickly even now at 03.21am on the Facebook BFI page people are posting saying they're trying to get tickets.
So I can only imagine what it will look like in the morning.
