BTW the midnight show at Lincoln Square has been sold out for 6 months. It was put on sale back in December and sold out within minutes.

It's my understanding that this went on sale so early (and sold out so quickly) because it's an official "premiere" with Nolan and Hardy in attendance for a Q&A after.

Henry Ford IMAX just put a 3:15am showing for Friday

Guess the midnight showings are finally sold out there

That's where I'll be going! Probably not till Saturday though. : /
I was considering the Henry Ford IMAX but I don't think I could convince my GF to drive over an hour to Detroit when we're on vacation. We're going with the LieMAX out in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti. I'll go see it on real IMAX when I'm back in Indy.

Heads up GAF! I hear that the legit IMAX's will be doing the marathons as well, so keep an eye out! Would be awesome to see the IMAX shots of TDK again

Imax converts 'Batman Begins' for trilogy screenings

Nolan's Bat trio to screen July 19 before midnight 'Dark Knight Rises'

Batman fans will be able to experience Christopher Nolan's complete "Dark Knight" trilogy in Imax, as the mega-screen exhib is converting the first installment "Batman Begins" to Imax for the first time.

Warner Bros. partnered with AMC Theaters to screen the trilogy at a total 296 AMC locations in the U.S., of which 76 now will be in Imax.

Trilogy screenings for regular and Imax houses will begin at 6 p.m. on July 19, leading up to midnight showtimes of "The Dark Knight Rises."

"As anticipation for 'The Dark Knight Rises' has risen, our guests have made their voices heard about the kind of experience they expect for this installment of what's become a legendary franchise," said AMC programming prexy Robert Lenihan. "We have been working to ensure we could provide our guests an event that was truly, completely in Imax."

"Batman Begins" launched Stateside on June 15, 2005, and wound up cuming $205 million domestically. "The Dark Knight" -- one of Imax's best peformers -- currently stands as the fourth-highest overall domestic grosser with $533 million.

The Imax "Dark Knight" package costs $40 per ticket vs. $25 for non-Imax screenings. Both limited-seating engagements include a collectible lanyard and commemorative poster, as well as a $5 voucher for AMC Stubs members to be used that day.

Wait, I thought Batman Begins had an IMAX release? Was it shown on IMAX screens but not converted?

Batman Begins didn't have a IMAX release. I think Dark Knight was the first film to use IMAX shots in a feature film.

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 1, 2005 - IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that "Batman Begins" will be simultaneously released to IMAX(R) and conventional 35mm theatres on June 17th, 2005. The film, which explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham, will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(R) with proprietary IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-mastering) technology for the IMAX release. Warner Bros. Pictures will be the exclusive distributor of Batman Begins to IMAX theatres worldwide.

Batman Begins was very successful at the time in IMAX theaters.

So much so that it broke the record at that time for IMAX shows.

Mentioned a page or two ago but did I understand this correctly? The Thurs night midnight show at NYC Lincoln Square is going to be the one Nolan and Hardy are attending? Wouldn't they be at the premiere which I would imagine wouldn't be at midnight.

Fucking awesome if true. Hate that the tickets sold out for that 6 months ago.

And any idea when the first reviews will hit? Soon right? Any embargoes?

after seeing Avengers at midnight I figured there was no way TDKR could do better, im starting to feel differently.
this hype is crazy and it over a month away.

Well now I'm intrigued!

Unconfirmed but more likely by the day spoilers (cameo-related):
A year or so ago, an extra confirmed a kangaroo court scene with the Scarecrow. He was trying the rich and allowing them to choose either death or exile (see one of the other CD titles). Exile apparently was walking across the thin, frozen ice surrounding Gotham in winter.

The extra's been right about the Selina in prison scene (where she does the flip and breaks the guy's arm) and one of the TV spots sort of showed the kangaroo court, plus the words "death by exile" were in his leaked paraphrasing of the script (months and months ago), which was confirmed by the track titles, so I'm pretty confident this rumor's true.

Stop spoiling yourselves you dolts. Last Nolan Batman movie? Yeah, I think I'll spoil it for myself, herp a nice coat derp.

Its going to do great numbers but no way it beats Avengers record. No 3D and longer run time means it will get around 180M opening weekend.

Reading the tracklist is the far that I've gone, spoiler wise. I don't really consider them to be spoilers though, more of an indication of things, you don't really know anything for sure.

WB put up the album art and tracklist on their official site, confirming everything.

The track listings aren't really spoilers, though they're a bit speculative. More than anything, they make me more excited.
