My man.

Batman Begins had better production design, but that's only because TDK didn't really have production design. Get back in that fucking hanger, Nolan. They sort of lost that Blade Runner city feel in the sequel.
I don't know why people keep using this as a criticism. BB takes place in the Narrows. At the end of the film Gordon says "The Narrows is lost." That means they're done with the Narrows and want to move on to the larger city. Was there anything interesting left to do in the Narrows?

That's probably my favourite shot out of all the media released so far.

Duh, Riddler.

I kid

Much more BB support than I expected.......yes.....yesssssss.......let the TDK hate flow inside you, my apprentices! Soon you will know your true power and we can destroy the Jedis!

Man, I feel like I've seen the whole movie at this point

Haven't we only seen like 13 minutes of footage? Hell, some of the clips are repeats. Still 2 hours and 32 minutes of goodness. Just don't bother trying to piece out the story with the clips or you'll ruin it for yourself.

Because its looked awful since it was revealed. Im not against the idea of a Batwing, conceptually, but not like this........not like this.

And improved, hopefully.

That too. The Batwing or whatever its called looks weightless to me, and it really pulls me out of it. Gimme dat mass and physics.

Oh cool, is it alright to speculate on stuff based on the trailers and tv spots in this thread? And if so what are people's thoughts on Bruce's use of a cane. Is it just a carry over from his limping at the end of TDK?

It seems weird he would have a limp for 8 years, then magically recover over the span of this movie (weeks/months?).

But it could be something psychological too.

What more "weightiness" do you need? The new shot shows it pulling a bank, moving in, and pushing away from the building.

It's got two propellers underneath. It's supposedly to be a little "floaty."

And I say this as somebody who wasn't thrilled with thing in the first place.

No doubt it would be weird which is why I hope its caused by something else. But it seems like he has the cane before Bane arrives so its not a result of their brawl. But with the 8 year gap and Gotham being nice for a bit I don't know what else could cause his injury.

Could be that he continued being Batman for a while after TDK (Gotham didn't clean itself in a day), accumulating injuries and finally got hurt enough that he quit.

Or, like I said, it could be a mental thing. Him holding onto his pain. It looks like he's in a pretty messed up place in the beginning of the film.

Whatever it is I hope it happens on camera. Maybe hurt while being hunted by the cops while still fighting criminals. I'm really curious about how the movie handles the 8 year jump.

Or it could be a result of the many hard landings he's endured in his time as Batman. Probably not that serious.

OR it's a new illusion to avoid suspicion. How can a crippled billionaire playboy do the things that Batman does? Anyone seen The Prestige? You know what I'm talking about.

They didn't explain the 8 year gap? I thought he left Gotham after TDK, came back after 8 years,
Bane comes in and puts him on another break.

So all this time he's been holding a goldfish bowl between his legs?

It could be a ruse, but if he's not been Batman during any of that time it seems a bit pointless.

Poetry is what it is yo.

I don't know, maybe the hunt for Batman got real serious and they start to check up on everybody and Bruce is like 'naa look at my leg look and i got a business u kidding?'. Would also work when he'd go onto continue with Bane's shenanigans.

You want it flying against the moon, making a bat symbol amirite?

jk jk

That's a good point actually, he could have done that right after TDK and feel like he's had to maintain it ever since to keep the living the lie.

Its a heli not a jet

So shit, Isn't it.

Part of me doesn't see the point of them even bothering with a 5am showing, seems so fucking awkward. Too late to stay up but too early to get up.

Wait what is this? All the international openings are synced up with the midnight showings in the US? Which time zone in the US?

http://www.metro.co.uk/film/901583-...-midnight-screenings-ruled-out-by-warner-bros

WB doesn't want anyone seeing it before the Americans do :(

Nope.

It is good though.

But most people, especially general audiences, think TDK is better. I still know some people who don't even know BB exists.

I hate these people. Sadly they do exist. I remember a lot of "Who was Rachel?" questions after leaving TDK.

Yeah, that is one of the misconceptions. They are visually two different beasts. That is pretty refreshing for a direct sequel from the last fifteen years or so.

I'm curious how this upcoming film as a whole will look visually, but from the teasers alone, it seems to be influenced heavily from the second film. I can imagine though the narrows being touched on once again with Bane's hoodlums.

Batman Begin's box office performance was simply a masterpiece alone. I think Mystery Men had larger hype. Begins was driven by the diehard fans and terrific word of mouth.
