Maybe its the color scheme or the explosion itself but this seems so much better than the usual "EXPLOSION!" in action movies. It looks more bleak and real in a sense.
Yeah, that is one of the misconceptions. They are visually two different beasts. That is pretty refreshing for a direct sequel from the last fifteen years or so.
I'm curious how this upcoming film as a whole will look visually, but from the teasers alone, it seems to be influenced heavily from the second film. I can imagine though the narrows being touched on once again with Bane's hoodlums.
I think we can safely expect this movie to be its own. Of course its the third, connected to both, and wraps up the story but it will have its own theme, look, and feel. It works best that way, because TDK can be viewed as a stand alone movie.
Batman Begin's box office performance was simply a masterpiece alone. I think Mystery Men had larger hype. Begins was driven by the diehard fans and terrific word of mouth.
That good word of mouth and incredible marketing for TDK drove the hype into a frenzy. I remember the first time I saw the trailer for TDK, ahead of I Am Legend, and the place clapped. That has to be based on how good people found BB to be.
WB doesn't want anyone seeing it before the Americans do
This makes no sense. Forget the fact if people want, they can spoil the movies for themselves already. And what time zone in the US are pinning the International releases down to?
Sorry over the seas bros that sucks.
That whole period was pretty awesome. I remember doing the midnight IMAX for Batman Begins, I purchased eighteen tickets for the showing.
I'm going to be lucky to find four people interested in doing the same for Rises. :/
Those ads still weren't bombarded like some of the films of the last few years have been though. Prometheus being the worst example of late.
Man getting old sucks. BB no one in my circle of friends was super excited about, but we all saw it and loved it. No big group or anything. TDK I bought tickets for opening weekend and went with a group of 22 of my friends! 22! We had a whole row and a half to ourselves. Waited 4.5 hours in line. We were all around 22-24 years old. Now? I barely got a group of 10 going.
Too many "gotta ask the wife, don't think I can stay in line that long...have to change diapers..."
