That Bruce thumbs up has always come across as so lame.

Lionel needs to make a better version of this one.

quick question: are the elevated trains from batman begins featured in the dark knight at all? even if it's just the tracks shown scattered throughout a city shot?

Nolan's gotham is just Chicago

there's no neon lights, gigantic statues, huge old timey gigantic neon signs.

Just plain ol' home of the white sox Chicago

Yes, from the boardroom window I think.

Edit: or it might be this I'm thinking of.

There's also monorails on the similar shot in one of the new trailers.

But there's no Chicago in this film :/ It's very New York now.

I also have a quick question regarding BB that's been bothering me for years.

When Ra's is on the train leaving the Narrows and all the water vaporizes on the way, you never really see anybody going crazy while it's happening, including commissioner Loeb.

Why are these people never adressed? They only mention the Narrows being screwed at the end.

Honestly, I don't know. I mean, do we really go street level once the train's left except for that one shot of Loeb and the dude being dragged away by some woman? Pretty sure the Gotham Tonight stuff on the Blu-Ray (with Anthony Michael Hall) talks about the aftermath of the fear gas attack. I need to rewatch it.

very cool, thanks! i like that kind of continuity. i was a bit disappointed the narrows weren't featured in the dark knight as a location. seemed like the perfect place for the joker to "emerge" from.

joker was introduced at the end of begins as coming from the narrows iirc.

I don't think the narrows would have fit into the visual tone of TDK at all. I would've loved the call back, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Now, if part three of this batman trilogy has the narrows somehow, I think I'll loose it while my friends just slowly switch seats.

They are shown very briefly in some of the cityscape shots.

There's another one on the far left of this image during the establishing shot of the penthouse before Joker crashes the party. There's an actual train on it to boot!

Also, as someone else said, there's an establishing shot in one of the tv spots for TDKR that has monorails in it as well. I don't mind them exploring different areas of Gotham (it's a huge city), but the monorails help preserve spatial continuity between films. Plus they look damn cool.

Oh yeah!

I spotted a moving train in the new trailer since then, top right.

Yupp! That screencap also makes me wonder how many buildings Wayne Enterprises has throughout Gotham. The interior shots of Fox's office make it look identical, but the exterior is clearly a different building in a different location.
