I watched Warrior yesterday for the second time. I find Tom Hardy's acting so superb that I can not wait to find out how he does it as Bane. He will never get the same legendary status as Heath Ledger did with The Joker but boy can he come close.

It is hard to realize that the guy went from this:

to this:

I must have missed this earlier in the thread, but it totally looks like Bane's mask is off when he throws JGL like a ragdoll.

10 weeks from today is release day

IMAX in NYC is going to be amazing I can't wait. The crowd gets so pumped it was the same during Dark Knight. I'm going to get 2 tickets for sure for Friday/Saturday because I know I'm going to want to see it again.

He also did it when he knocked out Dent at the party. Probably what caused Rachel to choose Dent over him. Fucking weirdo!
Does he ever sleep with women or does he just stalk them and spend tonnes of money to hang out with them.

Haven't those been sold out forever?

Haven't those been sold out forever?

Like a month ago they put up the tickets for the midnight showing but I believe that's it. They sold out in like 10 minutes. But I think the weekend tickets still aren't for sale yet, at least I hope not *checks now*.

edit - Yea Fandango still only has the midnight thursday showing available to choose (but sold out).

Haven't those been sold out forever?

I think the midnight showings starting Thursday night were sold out 6 months ago. General tickets starting Friday July 20th have not been put on sale yet. I think. I hope they aren't sold out. I want to go opening weekend Sat night. Went for TDK, waiting 2-3 hours in line, got the best seats in the house (NYC IMAX) and had an amazing time.

I agree with Sculli, I would love a scene where he loses it and becomes Batman while pretending to be Bruce. In fact that sort of rage should have been in TDK after Rachel blows up.

As for the suit, the TDK is the best for filming him moving around but yea the BB suit looked the best out of all the film adaptations.
Maybe that's the case.

I hope not because that shows through in the performance then. Did with Tobey in Spiderman 3.

And obviously I am not in the business so I don't know, but the Batman movies haven't held him back one bit. In fact they have actually propelled his career. Before Batman he was famous for being a kid actor and mainly for underrated performances here and there.

.
How are they going to sell those? Walk up firstcome first serve? Online?
Do they have movie ticket scalpers in NYC?

But Tobey was going to do S-M4............

Well then he just stunk it up.

Didn't he hold out for a while for more money?

I don't doubt Bale's commitment and we know he has more to do in this movie than in TDK, so I expect a good performance. Just that you hear those kind of comments often. As if its been a torture to do these movies.

Both online and walk in like anywhere else? Fandango or whatever websites sell tickets. I doubt you will be able to walk in and purchase opening weekend.

Maybe that's the case.

Were I an Oscar-winning, critically-acclaimed actor in-demand among the great directors of my day, doing a long and probably arduous shoot for a big-budget action movie where everybody just complains about my voice and ignores the other good work that I do would probably be low on my list of things that I want to do, as well.

Just think, there are probably only 2-5 years until we see the Malick film that he stars in!

The comment's not even in quotes. The writer of the feature probably put that in.

There are actual quotes though, where Bale said he had to take a minute on his last day of filming when it hit him that it'd be the last time he'd be wearing the suit and he had to let it sink in, or the one where he (Nolan, maybe?) said he spent six or so hours reading TDKR script because he was so engrossed visualizing it.

I wouldn't have those worries if I were you. He has a little more to work with than Kilmer or Clooney. I'm sure he's enjoyed the ride.

Everyone does it online here. I use fandango.com I don't know if there are other online sites or if that's the only IMAX one available. Hardly anybody can go in and buy a ticket for such a big movie and if you can you'll be waiting a very long time in line I imagine. And you'll have to go at an odd time like Tuesday at 1 in the afternoon to not be swarmed by massive crowds of people.

edit - That's only for IMAX in Manhattan though. In the other boroughs like Bronx Queens etc. you can walk in, it'll be crowded but you'll get the ticket without problem.

+1 Bale, I could imagine him being a little teary.

I wonder if Nolan and his team did anything special for Bale like how they did for Oldman

"They gave me a very funny gift after my last shot on ['Dark Knight Rises,']" Oldman told The Wrap. "I was standing on a rooftop with Chris Nolan, and they gave me a shadow box, in this black frame. Inside it was my badge, my glasses and a mustache that they stick on the stuntmen. So they even retired my mustache. It was a lovely, funny little gift at the end of it all, and a lovely keepsake."

Yeah actually good reminder.

And they all make it sound like working with Nolan is amazing so I am sure the writer of the article put that there to emphasize its the last of the Batman movies for this crew.

As for the tickets I remember in 2008 I bought 25 tickets the night they became available. Had to sell 3 back on the day of because some people bailed but we had a nice group of 22 people all in the best row in the biggest IMAX theater in the country. The scene where the guns go off as he is investigating the prints off the bullet blew our minds. The sound was off the charts.

It's one of the few bits of investigative work he does in the film. I'd love to see more of that.

Yet in TDK he did a ton of detective work, and people bitch that he didn't do any. I swear you people need to see him Googling for 45 minutes to get that he's doing detective work.

The only real, clever detective work he does is the ballistics thing. I don't really consider research or having a cell phone sonar built for you as detective work. That stuff is still slick, but I want him solving shit.

Yup. Loved the bit when he's reconstructing the bullet. But I don't recall much beyond that.

"He's always had this need, this drive, to take action because of the tragedy that befell him," Christian Bale tells Total Film Magazine in their latest issue. "He's not in the healthiest of places, in many ways." With the plot of The Dark Knight Rises still one of Hollywood's best kept secrets, we have no idea what state we find Bruce Wayne eight years after the events of the last film. However, there will be one constant in his life. Pain. "That's constant throughout. But I think it's more about him feeling the consequences of a life that's entirely directed by pain, and holding onto that pain, and just how long he can do that. It's about making the decision to continue [being Batman] in order to maybe self-destruct, or whether he can find some kind of rebirth, to be himself. There's a certain amount of reflection."

"Chris is very good at recognising the kind of movie that we're making, that we're not making a little character piece," he adds for anyone concerned that action might be put on the back burner. "There's no reason why you can't have a substantial amount of character in it, but we're not going to go so far that people say, 'This is no longer the excitement I'm looking for.' It's the end of an era. For me, personally, and for Batman." As ominous that sounds, producer (and wife of director Christopher Nolan) Emma Thomas makes it clear that the Caped Crusader faces his biggest challenge yet. "I would say that in terms of brutality, this one exceeds the last one. This is the first episode that Batman's ever physically been taken. Bane is a brute. I think what's great about this villain is that The Joker is all about mind games and messing with people, whereas Bane is about physical strength. We're giving Batman someone truly worthy of him. It's not just pure force. Je's really switched on."

That's not detective work.

Actually, I just realized something. There might be some detective work in Begins that happens offscreen. By the time Batman reaches the narrows, he's figured out how exactly they're going to use the microwaver. That's what I consider detective work--connect dots that aren't obvious.

Off the top of my head:

He figured out how the mob was moving it's money, and where it was going.

Bullet reconstruction to figure out Joker's plan.

Found out where Joker and the hostages were in the city by scanning the city's cell phones with the help of Tech Support Lucius.

He had the idea that there would be a cop protecting Reese who had a relative in one of the hospitals and had Tech Support Alfred do the Google search for him, although he talked him through how to point and click.

"Fuck Batman"

*Makes 2 movies as Sherlock Holmes*

He tries to figure out who the dirty cops in Gordon's unit are
He reconstructs the bullet for fingerprints
He tries to use biometrics to identify Joker
Tries to follow where the stolen money is going
Sneaks a look into Lau's finances and finds the money

The sonar thing was just a means to fanservice (holy shit Batman has white eyes!) :P

Anyways, it was nice they showed him trying things that didn't work out (the Joker biometrics).

I'll give you the first one and I already mentioned the second one but I'm sorry, the third and fourth aren't the type of detective work I'm talking about.

Running a search via Brother Eye isn't detective work, he's just scanning for something to move the plot forward. A techie/hacker in another film could do that (Kevin Smith in Die hard 4 comes to mind). I want to see the World's Greatest Detective do a little more "detecting" than that.

Fourth is, like you've said, essentially a google search.
